We have a number of itineraries available for South Africa, so putting together your perfect holiday has never been easier. And the best part is, we can be flexible with all trips – it’s your holiday, after all. If you want to stay for longer in the Kruger National Park, that’s fine. Perhaps you want to explore the Winelands in more depth – no problem! Maybe you feel that there is a stop missing? We can look into that too.
To give you some inspiration, here are some of the current packages we offer to South Africa.
1. Cape Town and Winelands
The shortest of our South African multi-centre holidays could almost be considered the ultimate city break with a tour of the country’s sensational Winelands tagged on to the end.
After flying directly from the UK to Cape Town, you will have five nights to explore this diverse city. A cable car to the summit of Table Mountain will likely top your list but you should also consider a day trip to Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years.
City Bowl and Cape Town’s central districts are the perfect places to explore the sensational restaurants of the city with Aubergine Restaurant and Arnolds being popular favourite. Adrenaline junkies will want to try their hand at shark cage diving – a truly unforgettable, if not terrifying experience.
After the city, it’s on to the Winelands for two nights where you are free to explore the history of the area and taste some of the finest wine on the planet.
2. The Highlights of South Africa
Want to see more of South Africa? Well this itinerary will suit you down to the ground. Over a 14-night stay, you will take in Cape Town, Knysna, Port Elizabeth, Shamwari, Plettenberg and finally the Winelands.
After a four-night stop in Cape Town, you’ll drive through the beauty of the Garden Route to Knysna. This lush stretch of gorgeous coastline offers outstanding views of the country and may well be a highlight of the whole trip.
After a night’s stay in Knysna, you’ll head to Port Elizabeth where it’s all about the wonderful beaches. Relax on the soft sands before you embark on the adventure of a lifetime in Shamwari, the home of the safari. Here you’ll come face to face with some of the most majestic animals on the planet including elephants, cheetahs, rhino and lions, to name but a few. To see these beasts in the wild is something quite unique and an experience like no other.
Finally, you’ll spend some time relaxing in Plettenberg and indulging in the Winelands before returning home.
3. The Best of South Africa
Similar to the above itinerary, this one is designed to show the multiple sides of South Africa by taking in the best bits and biggest attractions. Johannesburg, Kruger, Port Elizabeth, Knysna, the Winelands and Cape Town will be your stops on this wonderful trip.
In Johannesburg you will definitely want to take advantage of the many cultural things that there are to do in the city, with the CIRCA museum on Jellicoe and Apartheid Museum being two examples. The former houses a collection of contemporary artwork from across the country while the latter provides an insightful look into South Africa’s era of oppression.
The city is also known for its fabulous restaurants with the The Wolfpack (Sandton) and View at the Four Seasons Hotel offering two contemporary options.
Kruger is the other stand out stop on this trip and one that differs from the other options. The Kruger National Park is one of South Africa’s crown jewels and as soon as you arrive at your lodge you will see why.
This vast reserve is a place of tranquil beauty and the ideal location to view Africa’s wonderful wildlife. As well as lions and elephants, you’ll be able to spot giraffes, rhinos and an incredible variety of wild birds. To add to this awesome experience, you will also be staying in the lap of luxury right in the heart of the park.
4. Cape Town & Mauritius
Our final offering is a trip to Cape Town and Mauritius, a combination of the city and the sand. After four nights exploring the urban wonders of South Africa’s second largest city, you’ll be whisked off to paradise for a ten-night stay in Mauritius.
Prepare yourself for perfect waters, sensational beaches and a way of life so relaxing, you won’t want to leave. This pearl of the Indian Ocean is surrounded by coral reefs and home to a diverse array of natural landscapes. After ten days here, you’ll be already planning your next trip out!
