✈️ UK – Dubai (5 nights): You’ll begin your journey in Dubai, the epitome of glamour, and where every corner seems to shout ‘wow’. There are a plethora of high-end, luxury hotels to choose from. Whether you go for a high-rise overlooking the city’s glittering skyline or a beachfront resort on the Palm, you can expect exceptional service and a world-class experience. After you’ve settled into your hotel, you’ll want to make a beeline for the city’s main attraction: the Burj Khalifa. Head up to the observation deck on level 124 for incredible views across the city, the desert, and the Arabian Gulf. Or, for a more exclusive experience, opt for level 148, which sits 555 metres above the ground, offering not only spectacular views but also fast-track access and a guided tour. The Dubai Mall, located at the base of the Burj Khalifa, houses over 1,200 shops, a vast aquarium and an Olympic sized ice rink. In the evening, catch the iconic Dubai Fountain show, where jets of water move to a choreographed mix of music and light – definitely worth a watch.
For a day of adventure, enjoy the Desert Safari where you can enjoy dune bashing, camel rides, and a traditional dinner next to a campfire. Alternatively, head to the Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis The Palm, with it thrilling slides and lazy rivers. Once you’ve dried off, take an abra ride across Dubai Creek. Gliding along in one of these traditional wooden boats offers a peaceful escape from the busy city, and as you pass by the Gold and Spice Souks, you’ll get a sense of its trading history.
🚗 Dubai – Abu Dhabi (5 nights): After five nights in Dubai, a private car will whisk you to Abu Dhabi. Just 90 minutes away, the capital of the UAE offers a distinct change of pace. Here, you’ll find a more laid-back atmosphere, with elegant hotels, peaceful beaches, and more of a focus on arts and culture.
Start with the stunning Louvre Abu Dhabi, an architectural masterpiece which features a 180-metre-diameter dome that appears to float above the museum complex, casting a dramatic light effect across the galleries below. Inside, you’ll find an equally impressive world-class collection of art. The majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is another essential stop, with its white marble domes and intricate mosaics. For a bit of downtime, head to the Corniche, a beautifully landscaped seafront promenade perfect for walking, cycling, or simply relaxing with a cold drink at one of the cafes. For a glimpse into traditional Emirati life, the Heritage Village offers a fascinating look at the past before the oil boom transformed the region.
Families or thrill-seekers will love a visit to Yas Island. It’s home to Ferrari World and the high-speed Formula Rossa roller coaster, as well as Warner Bros. World, with its rides and characters. For the best views in the city, visit the Observation Deck at 300 in the Etihad Towers for panoramic views of the skyline and the Arabian Gulf.
