Description
Location: Situated on the north east coast of Zanzibar, 35km off Tanzania’s mainland, the Melia Zanzibar is only around 45 minutes’ drive from Zanzibar’s international airport.
Facilities: The hotel boasts an exclusive beach club and raised Jetty bar, set above the ocean. Nearby, the renowned marine centre offers professional diving courses, allowing you to get up close and personal with whale sharks, leopard rays and dolphins. Deep sea fishing is also very popular, with Big Yellow Fin Tuna, Sailfish Big Blue Marlin and Striped and Black Marlin in plentiful supply.
Secluded beach picnics and sunset champagne cruises are popular with honeymooners and couples. With children, however, there’s little time for romance so swimming pools, organised entertainment and a playground are also provided.
Restaurants & Bars: There are two restaurants and three bars, giving exceptional views of the ocean and keeping you well sated and refreshed during your stay. There are even two private pavilions in which you and your partner can dine under the stars in complete seclusion – romance with a capital “R”!
Accommodation: The resort has 110 rooms and suites, all overlooking the tropical gardens and out towards the Indian Ocean. Bathrooms have bathtubs, outside secluded shower and sky views. Flat screen satellite TV, minibar and coffee/tea making facilities are also included. In addition, there are seven private villas, each with its own infinity pool, sundeck and private butler service.
