It depends on your route. South Africa’s Garden Route and major highways are easily accessible in a standard vehicle. However, for Namibia’s dunes, gravel roads, or combined routes through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, a 4×4 is recommended for comfort and safety, however the are always routes we can recommend to avoid needing a 4X4.
