UK to Kuala Lumpur (3 nights):  Offering iconic landmarks, great food, warm hospitality and a melting pot of cultural influences, KL is the perfect place to start your Malaysian adventure. Visit the Petronas Tower and walk across the skybridge between the two towering structures or take a trip to the KL tower that dominates the skyline. Stroll around the designer shopping centres and night markets and enjoy the city’s diverse culinary scene offering mouth-watering street food, fine dining experiences, and traditional Malay cuisine.  The city’s efficient transport system makes it easy to get around, so why not visit some of the colourful neighbourhoods of Little India and Chinatown too.

Kuala Lumpur to Lahad Datu/Danum Valley (4 nights): This is where your rainforest adventure begins with a memorable 4-night tour through the Danum Valley. After your arrival into Lahad Datu, you’ll be transported to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. From here, you’ll head out into the jungle on a trek along a 360-metre-long treetop canopy walkway to get among the sights and sounds of the rainforest. The outdoor activities continue after nightfall when you hop in an open-air jeep and set off on a nature drive searching for nocturnal animals.  The second day starts with an early breakfast before trekking to the Kadazandusun burial site. Marvel at the historic “Coffin Cliff” and ascend to a viewpoint for a breath-taking panoramic view. Later, you can choose between a jungle trail trek or an exhilarating tubing ride down the Danum River. In the evening, you’ll join a guided walk to observe the nocturnal creatures.  On the third day, after breakfast, explore the Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the rainforest. Return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy optional activities such as guided trekking or simply time to relax and put your feet up.

On the final day, you’ll have breakfast at the lodge and spend the morning at your leisure. After lunch, you’ll be taken back Lahad Datu airport for your onward flight.

Lahad Datu – Kota Kinabalu (7 nights): This is the part of your itinerary where you can put your feet up and truly relax.  Kota Kinabalu is considered by many to be the crown jewel of Sabah with its intoxicating blend of natural wonders, sun-kissed beaches, and pristine islands with crystal clear waters.  After you’ve enjoyed some serious R&R on the beaches and some day trips to the nearby islands, make sure you visit the floating Mosque, the vibrant Filipino market, and The Night Market.   You can also delve deeper into the rich tapestry of Borneo’s indigenous cultures at the Mari Mari Cultural Village, which is located just outside of the city. Here, you can learn more about the traditional lifestyles, customs, and heritage of Borneo’s diverse ethnic groups including watching tribal dances.

Optional Singapore stopover: Not ready to head home quite yet? Add an optional stopover in Singapore, renowned for its immaculate cleanliness, diverse culinary scene, and stunning skyline. A must-visit is the iconic Gardens by the Bay with its magnificent Supertrees, plus the vibrant neighbourhood of Chinatown and the historic district Kampong Glam. Head to the Marina Bay for the fabulous laser light show and a magnificent view at the top of the luxurious Marina Bay Sands hotel.

Kota Kinabalu / Singapore to UK:  Home time! We’ll take you back to the airport for your return flight back to the UK.
