There are a huge range of culinary wonders on offer throughout the city, from the tiny izakayas to world-renowned sushi restaurants. If you have time, head to Tokyo Disneyland or indulge in a tranquil tea ceremony in one of the many traditional tea houses.

🚆Tokyo to Shizuoka (2 nights):  After your stay in Tokyo, it’s time to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital and spend a couple of nights in the coastal city of Shizuoka.  Catching the bullet train out of Tokyo, you’ll find yourself between the iconic Mount Fuji and the stunning Suruga Bay, with a breath-taking backdrop of beautiful landscapes surrounding you.  Some of the must-see sights in Shizuoka include exploring the tea plantations, embarking on the walking trails that lead you to the base of Mount Fuji and visiting the temples and shrines, such as the Shizuoka Sengen Shrine. As a coastal city, the fresh seafood here is wonderful, so make sure you try some of the locally caught fish.

🚆Shizuoka to Osaka (2 nights): Jumping back on the bullet train, your next stop is Osaka, Japan’s third-largest city and a bustling urban hub that is known for its stunning cuisine.  Try the street food including takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (savoury pancakes). Don’t miss a visit to Osaka Castle, a beautiful historic structure surrounded by lush gardens and the neon lights of Dotonbori famed its food and its energetic nightlife.

🚆Osaka to Hiroshima (2 nights): Hiroshima is a city forever etched in history following the devastating atomic bombing in 1945.  You’ll journey here via the efficient bullet train.  The main highlight of the city is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where you can pay your respects to the tragic events of August 1945.  Within the park, wander around the Peace Memorial Museum and make sure you visit the Atomic Bomb Dome.  Elsewhere in the city make sure you take in the Hiroshima Castle and the peaceful Shukkeien Garden with its landscaped lawns, teahouses and central pond.

🚆Hiroshima to Okinawa (beach) (4 nights):  For the final leg of your journey, you’ll fly to the tropical paradise of Okinawa for some beachside downtime. The region is home to numerous pristine beaches both on the mainland and on the nearby islands, each offering something a little different. One of the most popular spots is Onna Village, located on the western coast of Okinawa Island, and known for its picturesque beaches and beachfront luxury resorts. Or you could head to the stunning Kouri island, known for its crystal-clear waters and its heart-shaped rock formation.  Or head to Nishihama Beach on Hateruma Island, part of the Yaeyama Islands with its incredibly fine white sand and turquoise waters.

✈️Okinawa to UK: All good things must come to an end, and on your final day, we’ll take you to the airport for your return flight home to the UK.
