Anguilla is a peaceful and exclusive island paradise. It’s surrounded by beautiful coral reefs and secluded uninhabited islands and cays. It boasts miles of pristine powder soft white sands that are gently lapped by the Caribbean Sea. The beaches are fringed by swaying palm trees and are truly stunning. The island also boasts some of the region’s best diving. If you’re looking for a true island hideaway, with a relaxed Caribbean vibe then this island is for you. Anguilla is also perfect as a twin centre and combines well with Antigua, so get in touch so we can recommend some ideas.
Things to see & do in Anguilla
Attractions: Anguilla has some incredible beaches – in fact, this small island probably boasts some of the best beaches in the world – and Shoals Bay is no exception. One of the most popular beaches in Anguilla, Shoals Bay is a 2-miles long with soft pure-white sand and turquoise calm waters and is rarely busy. Visitors can also enjoy snorkelling and diving just off the shore. Anguilla has a buzzing live music scene – try to catch a gig with one of the local bands at the Pump House and The Dune Preserve. Anguilla has the perfect conditions for Kite-surfing ideal for both beginners and experts. If you fancy a short hop to another island, St Martin is only a 20 minute boat ride away.
Events/festivals: Moonsplash Music Festival in March is a hosted by local reggae star Bankie Banx and sees thousands flock to the island to enjoy this special event. Anguilla Summer festival takes place in July and is an 11 day festival of parades, boat races, reggae and much more.
Sports: Visitors can enjoy some great diving, snorkelling, parasailing, windsurfing and kite surfing on the island. There is a 9 hole golf course at Sandy Ground and a championship golf course at Temenos.
Nightlife: Nightlife on the island fairly casual, although there are some great hang outs with live music where you can have a few rum punches and a fun night out. Most of the hotels and bars offer live entertainment in the form of steel drums, reggae and calypso bands but some of the best live music can be heard at The Dune Preserve – owned by local Reggae star Bankie Banks who often performs there. The Pumphouse is also a great bar especially on Thursday nights when there is live music and Smokey’s on Cove bay has dancing on a Sunday night.
Eating/Drinking Anguilla boasts some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean – indeed it is known as ‘the cuisine capital of the Caribbean’ and is a true paradise for food-lovers. You will find some fantastic seafood in Anguilla including local lobster and crayfish. It is generally advised to drink bottled water on the island as opposed to tap water.
Shopping: Anguilla has some great art galleries and a few good tourist shops and boutiques, but isn’t renowned for its shopping possibilities in general.
When to go:
Anguilla enjoys great all-year round weather. Even in Anguilla’s ‘rainy season’ between Sept to Oct is mostly sunny and the annual rainfall on the island is a mere 35 inches.
This Mediterranean inspired resort features acclaimed fine dining restaurants, an awarding winning spa and golf course.

I’ve now lost count of the trips I’ve booked with Gavin at e-shores and how he always manages to know exactly what we like and gets a great price - always the same or less than I research myself. Our latest was Greek island hopping to Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini and the hotels Gavin booked were all outstanding and the typically small, boutique hotels with less crowds. We went out of season (1st - 13th Sept) and everything went smoothly from the airport transfers, the welcome we had at each hotel and the beauty of each island having its own magic. Looking forward to the next trip already booked through Gavin in November! Thank you everyone-shores - the Napiers!

Claire Smith offered invaluable support in arranging our travel by air to Portugal pluse trains around the country, offering a choice of three hotels in every stop. She expanded our initial thoughts of Lisbon and Porto to include fantastic destinations that we would not have thought of - Guimaraes, Aveiro and Sintra. And she suggested tours we might enjoy. She listened. She selected hotels on the basis of what we told her we would like, from the feel of them to their location and the facilities they had. She was on the end of the phone when I needed her and made me feel there would be help at the end of the phone in an emergency abroad. We're looking forward to our getaway, secure in the knowledge it has been tailor maide to our requirements.

As always, fantastic service from Rob at eShores. He responded quickly to any requests and provided excellent support throughout the booking process. This is the second trip we’ve booked with him, and we’ve even recommended him to family members who are now also booking their holidays with Rob. Highly recommended

Our travel consultant, whom we have worked with for a few trips now, was given a wide ranging, complex and extensive overseas tour itinerary to quote for my wife and I. Not only did she return the quote within a matter of days but it was an amazing price and the hotels of our choice were mainly booked. The administration backed up the agreed quote with all relevant documents and we paid the deposit. All was done with the utmost efficiency, accuracy and speed. Wiil be back!!
