4 Nights – Nice (Day trip to Monaco)
✈️ UK – Marseille (3 nights): You will fly from the UK to Marseille, where we will meet you at the airport for your transfer to your hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights. Marseille is the Mediterranean’s largest port and France’s second largest city after Paris. The city has benefited from major renovation since being crowned European City of Culture in 2013. The main focal point is the vibrant Vieux Port, alive with street entertainers, huge yachts and splendid restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. Well worth a visit are The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisation and the Notre Dame de la Garde, offering impressive views over the city. A great way to explore this historic port is on an open-top bus tour, which allows you to stop at the beach as well as visit some of the main sights.
🚆 Marseille – Nice (4 nights): On your last day in Marseille, you will take a train to Nice (approx. 2 hours and 30 mins) where you will spend 4 nights. Nice’s beach curves around the Bay of Angels, and a stroll along the palm-lined Promenade des Anglais is a must. The beaches may be pebbly, but the waters are clear, calm and perfect for paddling. Castle Hill rewards those who climb its 100+ steps with fabulous views of the city. The Old Town, with its narrow atmospheric streets, artisan boutiques and small restaurants, is perfect for leisurely exploration. One of its best treasures is the Cours Saleya, home to the lively flower and food market – the ideal spot for lunch surrounded by colour and bustle.
🚆 Monaco Day Trip from Nice: Whilst staying in Nice, you can easily visit (or even overnight in) Monaco. Only a 20-minute train ride away, it’s the perfect day trip destination. There’s no better place to watch the world (and the world’s most expensive cars) go by than from the Café de Paris, opposite the famous Casino de Monaco. The Casino itself is an impressive affair, with lavish rococo rooms and enormous chandeliers – but don’t let the opulence tempt you into high-stakes gambling! The principality’s most famous event, the Monaco Grand Prix, takes place at the end of May, when the city buzzes with the Formula One elite.
✈️ Nice – UK: On your final day in Nice, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred back to the airport for your flight home to the UK.
