✈️ UK to Izmir / Ephesus (2 nights): On arrival in Izmir you’ll be transferred to Selcuk, the gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus. Here you’ll spend two nights exploring this once-thriving Roman city. Wander through the well-preserved ruins, marvel at the grandeur of the Library of Celsus, and stroll along the marble-paved streets, passing by the Great Theatre, one of the largest theatres in the Roman world, once believed to accommodate 25,000 spectators. Here you can climb the seating tiers and get a sense of its impressive scale and architectural ingenuity. You can also visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and located just outside the main Ephesus site.
🚗 Ephesus to Beach (8 nights): Next, you’ll head for some R&R along the Aegean coast, to a beach destination of your choice, for example the vibrant town of Bodrum or the smaller, charming village of Gumusluk. Bodrum offers a lively nightlife, bustling markets and historical sites such as Bodrum Castle. There is a great range of accommodation from luxurious beachfront resorts with private beaches and views of the Aegean Sea to boutique hotels nestled in the heart of Bodrum’s charming Old Town. Gumusluk provides a more relaxed experience with its beautiful beaches and pretty seafood restaurants with twinkling lights and lanterns. Just off the coast of Gumusluk you’ll find Rabbit Island where you can stroll across at low tide and enjoy the scenic views and of course the island’s friendly rabbits.
Your beachside stay includes a day’s excursion to Pamukkale, located next to the ancient city of Hierapolis. Pamukkale, meaning ‘cotton castle’ in Turkish, is famous for its terraces of white mineral-rich thermal waters which cascade down the hillside, formed by the carbonate minerals that are deposited by the flowing water and which you can walk and take a dip in.
✈️ Bodrum to UK: Your Turkish adventure comes to an end as you board the flight back home to the UK.
