✈️ UK – Dar es Salaam (1 night): Fly from your chosen UK airport to Tanzania’s largest city, Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay, with the rest of the day free to relax after your journey. Stay: Hotel Slipway
✈️ Dar es Salaam – Nyerere National Park (3 Nights, Rufiji River Camp): After breakfast, transfer back to the airport for your flight to Nyerere National Park. Spanning more than 30,000 km², it’s one of Africa’s largest and wildest reserves, known for its diverse landscapes of open plains, wetlands, forests and rivers, including the mighty Rufiji.
On arrival, your guide will take you to camp, where your safari begins immediately with game drives through a land teeming with life. Nyerere is home to one of Africa’s largest lion populations, half of the world’s remaining wild dogs, plus elephants, giraffes, hippos and countless bird species. Enjoy a sundowner before dinner as the sounds of the bush come alive.
Spend the next two days exploring Nyerere at your own pace. Discuss each evening with your guide which activities you’d like to enjoy — perhaps a thrilling game drive, a tranquil boat safari along the Rufiji River or a guided bush walk. Wildlife sightings here feel wonderfully exclusive, as the park receives far fewer visitors than the northern reserves.
✈️ Nyerere – Ruaha National Park (3 Nights, Ruaha River Lodge): This morning, enjoy an early bush walk or game drive before breakfast, then fly west to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s second largest reserve. With its rugged hills, sweeping savannahs and ancient baobab trees, Ruaha feels gloriously wild and remote.
After check-in and lunch at your lodge, head out on an afternoon game drive in search of Ruaha’s famed elephant herds, prides of lions, and perhaps the rare African wild dog. The park is also home to leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles and more than 500 bird species.
Over the next two days, tailor your time with morning and afternoon drives or a full-day safari, guided by expert trackers who know every corner of the park. Between adventures, unwind on your veranda overlooking the river — you might even spot elephants drinking just below
✈️ Ruaha – Zanzibar (6 Nights): After breakfast and a final morning game drive, you’ll fly to the coast for your onward flight to Zanzibar, where pure relaxation awaits. Transfer to your beachfront hotel and spend six nights enjoying this Indian Ocean paradise.
Relax on white sands, swim in crystal-clear waters and explore at your own pace — from historic Stone Town to spice farms, coral reefs and lush forests.
✈️ Zanzibar – UK: After your final morning in paradise, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
