✈️ UK – Rhodes (5 nights): Arriving on the island of Rhodes, you’ll touch down on the sunniest island in the Mediterranean. The largest of the Dodecanese, Rhodes combines wooded valleys, mountain scenery and miles of golden coastline. With its buzzing nightlife, crystal-clear waters and fascinating history, it’s easy to see why it’s one of Greece’s most popular islands. The charismatic Old Town of Rhodes is a maze of cobbled streets surrounded by medieval walls. Wander through its ancient alleys to admire the Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Masters and a wealth of medieval architecture. Further south lies Lindos, a picture-perfect village of whitewashed houses overlooking a turquoise bay. Follow its cobbled lanes up to the 4,000-year-old acropolis for breathtaking views and the reconstructed Temple of Athena. Relax on the island’s many beaches, take a scenic coastal cruise or, if you’re into watersports, head to the island’s southern cape, where the Aegean and Mediterranean meet, creating ideal conditions for windsurfing.
🚢 Rhodes – Symi (3 nights): A short two-hour ferry journey brings you to Symi, a small, mountainous island of timeless beauty. Peaceful and unspoilt, Symi feels a world away from modern life. Its harbour town of Gialos is a delight, framed by neoclassical pastel houses cascading down the hillside and is a legacy of Italian rule a century ago. Take a boat trip around the island to discover its hidden coves and crystal-clear bays, many of which are only accessible from the sea. In the evening, dine at a waterfront taverna or climb the 500 steps of Kali Strata, lined with grand mansions, to enjoy dinner with panoramic harbour views. Apart from a small hilltop village, the island’s simplicity is part of its magic. Don’t miss a visit to the 18th-century Monastery of Panormitis on the southern coast is an elegant Venetian-style landmark set against pine-covered mountains and only reachable by boat, offering one of the island’s most memorable views.
🚢 Symi – Kos (6 nights): Continuing north through the Dodecanese, you’ll arrive on the vibrant island of Kos. Encircled by 300km of coastline and lapped by the azure waters of the Aegean, Kos offers something for everyone, from laid-back escapes to lively resorts. The island is dotted with beautiful beaches, charming towns and a wealth of cultural sites. For water sports, head to the breezy northern shores, or if you’re feeling adventurous, climb Mount Dikeos for sweeping views across the island. Kardamena is the spot for nightlife, while Kos Town offers a more refined scene of stylish cocktail bars and cafés. For history, visit the imposing Neratzia Castle and the nearby Plane Tree of Hippocrates, where legend says the ancient physician once taught his students. If you’d like to explore beyond the main town, visit Kefalos, a classic Greek village with windmills, cobbled streets and traditional tavernas. Spend an evening here dining to the sound of local musicians, or unwind at Psalidi, a relaxed resort with a golden bay, a handful of tavernas and tranquil seaside charm.
