✈️ UK – Windhoek (1 night): Touch down at Hosea Kutako International Airport, where your self-drive adventure begins. After collecting your rental vehicle and completing the formalities, head into Namibia’s welcoming capital, Windhoek. Once checked in, take time to explore the city at your own pace—perhaps stroll through its colonial streets or enjoy a relaxed dinner at a local restaurant.

🚗 Windhoek – NamibRand Nature Reserve (2 nights): After breakfast, set off southwards through the scenic Khomas Hochland mountains. As the landscape opens up into the vast plains of the Namib Desert, you’ll arrive at your lodge near Sossusvlei—perfectly placed for exploring this iconic region.
The next morning, rise early to catch the golden light over the towering dunes of Sossusvlei—an unforgettable sight. Nearby, Deadvlei offers a surreal contrast of bleached clay and ancient, skeletal trees. Later, visit the Sesriem Canyon, carved deep into the desert floor. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and a hat—it gets hot out here!

🚗 NamibRand – Swakopmund (2 nights): Today’s drive takes you north via the dramatic Kuiseb Canyon. Along the way, stop to admire the otherworldly Moon Landscape and the ancient desert plant, Welwitschia mirabilis. By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Swakopmund—a charming coastal town with a distinctly German flavour.
The following day is yours to spend at leisure. Whether you relax by the ocean, explore the town’s quirky shops and cafés, or join an optional activity such as a desert tour or dolphin cruise, Swakopmund offers something for everyone.

🚗 Swakopmund – Twyfelfontein (2 nights): Head north along the Atlantic coast, passing the lichen fields near Wlotzka’s Baken and the laid-back resort town of Henties Bay. Continue inland via Uis to the rugged landscapes of Twyfelfontein, known for its ancient rock engravings.
Spend the next day exploring the area’s geological wonders. Visit the UNESCO-listed rock art site at Twyfelfontein, the striking Organ Pipes, and the mysterious Burnt Mountain.

🚗 Twyfelfontein – Etosha National Park (2 nights): Travel northeast via Kamanjab to the southern entrance of Etosha National Park. Your lodge offers a tranquil base for wildlife viewing over the next two days.
The following day is all about wildlife. Venture into the park for a full day of game viewing, or simply relax at your lodge and enjoy the surroundings. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, and the elusive black rhino.

🚗 Etosha – East Etosha (2 nights): Drive east through the heart of Etosha, exiting via the von Lindequist Gate. Your next lodge is nestled just outside the park. Along the way, stop at waterholes and springs where wildlife gathers—perfect for spotting predators and large herds.
Spend the next day exploring the eastern side of the park or join a guided game drive from your lodge. Alternatively, unwind and soak up the peaceful bush surroundings.

🚗 East Etosha – Okonjima Nature Reserve (2 nights): Head south to Okonjima, set in the beautiful Omboroko Mountains. This reserve is home to the AfriCat Foundation, dedicated to the conservation of Namibia’s big cats. (The name Okonjima means “place of the baboons” in Herero.)
On your final full day, immerse yourself in conservation. Learn about AfriCat’s work, track leopards and cheetahs on foot or by vehicle, and experience the thrill of seeing these majestic animals up close.

✈️ Okonjima – Windhoek – UK: Begin your journey back to Windhoek, stopping at Okahandja’s famous woodcarvers’ market for a final souvenir. Arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport in time for your inbound flight home —taking with you unforgettable memories of Namibia’s wild beauty.
