Itinerary

3 Nights – Seville
1 Night – Cordoba
2 Nights – Valencia
3 Nights – Barcelona
3 Nights – Dubrovnik
2 Nights – Split

Optional Pre-Extension: 2 Nights in Marrakech

✈UK – Seville (3 Nights): Seville is located in Spain’s Andalusia region. Parts of the city will be recognisable to Game of Thrones fans as Dorne, home of Oberyn Martell. Here you can explore the Alcázar of Seville, a royal palace that represents a striking blend of Eastern and Western architecture. The palace featured heavily in Game of Thrones as the Water Gardens Palace of the Martell family.

🚂Seville to Cordoba (1 Night): Staying in the Andalusia region, the second stop on your trip will be Cordoba. In this area you will find another Game of Thrones location: Cordoba’s Roman Bridge. Originally built in 1st Century BC, the bridge is a feat of early engineering and appears in the TV series as the Long Bridge in the free city of Volantis.

🚂 Cordoba to Valencia (2 Nights): Moving to the east cost of Spain, sitting on the Mediterranean Sea, Valencia gives you the perfect opportunity to unwind.

Close to the city you will find La Malvarrosa beach. The city itself is vibrant, with a traditional outdoor market and a blend of classic and contemporary architecture. The Valencian municipality of Peniscola is home to a beautiful medieval fortress that appeared on screen as Meereen. Scenes with Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Varys (Conleth Hill) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) were filmed in the area on the Calle Mayor, Portal Fosc, Parque de la Artilleria and Plaza de Santa Maria.

🚂 Valencia to Barcelona (3 Nights): During your stay in Barcelona, you can explore filming locations on a half-day guided tour to nearby Girona. This takes in sights along the Onyar River as well as visits to the city’s cathedral, which you may recognise as the Sept of Baelor, and Girona’s Jewish Quarter, which featured heavily in the Game of Thrones series as the city of Braavos. Take advantage of your free time on the tour to stroll around Girona’s medieval walls.

Back in Barcelona, visit House Tarly’s home, which was filmed at Castell de Santa Florentina, which is just a short distance from the old town of Barcelona. Explore the city’s Catalan culture with visits to famous architectural sites such as the Sagrada Familia. If you fancy a break from sightseeing, visit La Ramblas for a spot of shopping in one of Spain’s most famous boulevards. Barcelona is also the perfect place to have a day off your feet – relaxing at one of its beaches such as Platja de Barceloneta.

✈ Barcelona – Dubrovnik (3 Nights): After Barcelona, you’ll leave Spain for Croatia, starting your visit in Dubrovnik, on the Adriatic Sea.

In recent years, the city, which is dominated by its stone-encircled, 16th-Century Old Town, has become a place of pilgrimage for Game of Thrones fans. The Old Town is immediately recognisable as King’s Landing. The Fortified port city is so remarkable in its well-preserved architecture that few adjustments were needed to prepare it for filming.

â›´ Dubrovnik – Split (2 Nights): For this section of your trip, an optional road transfer is available for those not keen on sea-travel. Your second stop in Croatia is Split, the ancient capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia.

Split offers a blend of ancient and modern, with impressive historical sites – including the 4th Century Diocletian’s Palace – and exuberant nightlife with dozens of bars, restaurants and shops. Game of Thrones fans will find plenty to ensnare them here. The Diocletian’s Palace played host to Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and her army during their stay in Meereen, while the Klis Fortress just 20 minutes north of the city is the site of Daenerys’s mass crucifixion of the slavers.

✈ Split – UK: At the end of your tour we will fly you back to the UK.

Optional Pre-Extension: 2 Nights in Marrakech – Extra £295pp Start your trip by flying direct from the UK to Marrakech. Stay in Marrakech for 2 nights and take a trip to Ait Ben Haddou – the setting for Daenerys’s battle with the Second Sons. After your stay in Marrakech comes to an end you’ll fly directly to Seville to start the main itinerary.
