✈️ UK – Bangkok (3 nights): First, you will fly from your chosen UK airport to Bangkok. When you arrive in Bangkok, you’ll have the day and evening at leisure to relax after your flight and take in this bustling city. The following day, you’ll visit the Grand Palace, built in 1782 by the first king of the ruling Chakri dynasty. You’ll also explore Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the Emerald Buddha, and Wat Pho, the largest temple in Bangkok and home to the 15-metre-high, 46-metre-long Reclining Buddha. You’ll then cross the river to Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn). If shopping takes your fancy, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the famous floating markets, numerous street and night markets, as well as the various modern shopping complexes that now fill the city.
🚗 Ayutthaya Day Trip: On your final day in Bangkok, you’ll take a fascinating day trip to the ruins of Ayutthaya. Phra Nakorn Sri Ayutthaya served as the Siamese capital from 1350–1767 and was once one of the most splendid cities in the Orient. You’ll also visit the restored Summer Palace and the Historical Park to view the impressive ruins of Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Panan Choeng and the distinctive triple chedis of Wat Phra Sri Sanphet.
🚗 Bangkok – River Kwai (1 night): On your fourth day, you’ll travel west to Kanchanaburi and visit the well-maintained Don Rak War Cemetery and the Thailand-Burma Railway Museum, which vividly illustrates the history of the ‘Death Railway’. Continue to the Bridge on the River Kwai, before a long-tail boat takes you to the River Kwai Resotel (other options available) in a wonderful natural setting. After lunch, visit a Mon village, where you’ll have the option to enjoy an elephant experience, before an evening of traditional Mon dance and dinner.
River Kwai – Bangkok (1 night): Day five begins with a visit to the Hellfire Pass Memorial, marking the most difficult rock cutting along the Thailand-Burma Railway. After lunch, take a scenic train ride along the notorious Death Railway before returning to Bangkok for an evening at leisure.
✈️ Bangkok – Northern Thailand (3 nights): On your final morning in Bangkok, relax before we take you back to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. You’ll be met on arrival and taken to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, an important pilgrimage site for Northern Thailand. In the evening, enjoy a dinner of Northern Thai delicacies accompanied by a traditional dance show.
The following morning, you’ll visit an elephant camp, followed by an orchid farm and a local lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Chiang Mai and visit some of its most splendid Buddhist temples. On your third day in Northern Thailand, you’ll travel to Chiang Rai to tour this intriguing city, stopping en route at Wiang Pa Pao to visit Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple) and the Golden Triangle.
✈️ Northern Thailand – Beach (6 nights): Your final morning in Chiang Mai will be spent at leisure before we return you to the airport for your flight to your chosen beach destination, where you’ll spend the remainder of your holiday. We can arrange accommodation in any beach resort you prefer and if you’re unsure which to choose, our experts can recommend the most suitable options.
✈️ Beach – UK: On your final day, we’ll transfer you back to the airport for your flight home to the UK.
