✈️ UK to Dambulla / Sigiriya (3 nights):  As you touch down, your private driver will be waiting to greet you, and will be your dedicated transfer between destinations for the duration of your holiday – allowing you to choose the sightseeing stops to suit your preferences.  From the airport, you’ll head straight to the heart of the country’s Cultural Triangle to visit some of the most incredible historic sites on the island.  The Dambulla Cave Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has a remarkable collection of Buddhist murals and statues within its five caves and is one of the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the country.  Another UNESCO site, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, boasts ancient ruins on top of a huge rock formation, with impressive frescoes, landscaped gardens, and a fascinating history dating back to the 5th century.

🚗 Dambulla / Sigiriya to Kandy (2 nights):   Also in the Cultural Triangle, your next stop is Kandy, home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa. This Buddhist temple is widely believed to house a tooth that belonged to Lord Buddha himself. Here you can explore the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens and also take a walk around Kandy Lake, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.

🚗 / 🚂 Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (1 night):   To travel from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, you have two choices: your driver can provide a direct door-to-door journey, or you can opt for the immensely popular and beautifully captivating train ride from Kandy to Ella, where you’ll be met at the train station by your driver for the final leg of your journey to Nuwara Eliya.  The picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya is the epicentre of Sri Lanka’s tea industry.  Visit a tea factory and learn about the tea-making process, from leaf to cup, and enjoy high tea at one of the colonial-era planters’ bungalows.

🚗 Nuwara Eliya to Yala (1 night):   For your next stop, you’ll continue your journey to Yala, famous for its fascinating wildlife and pristine landscapes. Head out on a jeep safari in Yala National Park where you can spot leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and a variety of bird species. After an exciting day of wildlife spotting, unwind at your hotel nestled amidst the natural beauty.

🚗 Yala to Beach Resort (7 nights): For the final part of your Sri Lankan escape, you’ll be whisked away for a beach getaway at one of the island’s captivating beach resorts of your choice. Whether you’re drawn to the lively atmosphere of Mirissa, the peaceful seclusion of Tangalle, or the pristine shores of Unawatuna, Sri Lanka is not short on options when it comes to choosing the perfect beach, all promising total relaxation, pristine sands and azure waters.

✈️ Beach to UK:  Time to head back on your return flight home to the UK.
