✈️ UK to Colombo (1 night): Your Sri Lankan adventure begins with a warm welcome from your personal chauffeur, ready to whisk you away to your hotel in Colombo. Your dedicated driver will be on hand throughout your trip, taking you to each hotel and allowing you the freedom to explore sightseeing stops along the way. In Colombo, make sure you head to the famous Pettah market, a labyrinth of narrow streets and bustling stalls, and the Fort area including landmarks such as the Old Dutch Hospital, the Old Parliament Building and Galle Face Green.

🚗 Colombo to Anuradhapura (2 nights): In the morning, your driver will transport you away from the urban hustle and bustle and into the serene heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Anuradhapura is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and boasts a plethora of ancient ruins, monastic sites, regal palaces, and three huge stupas: the Mirisavatiya, Ruvanweliya, and Jetavanaya. It is also home to the revered Sri Maha Bodhi, a sacred fig tree which is one of the oldest living trees on Earth.

🚗 Anuradhapura to Dambulla / Sigiriya (inc Polonnaruwa) (3 nights): Delving deeper into the cultural triangle, your next stop is Dambulla / Sigiriya, home to some incredible ancient cities and truly fascinating structures. Dambulla is renowned for its Dambulla Cave Temple complex that features five caves with stunning murals and over 150 carved Buddha statues that have been painstakingly carved directly into the natural rock formations. Just a short drive away is the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as Lion Rock, with its incredible ‘rock-cut’ architecture and landscaped gardens built on top of a huge granite rock outcrop. The nearby ancient city of Polonnaruwa is also a must-visit within the area, and its ruins include royal palaces, temples, statues, and stupas, including the Gal Vihara, a rock temple with four huge Buddha statues carved into the granite.

🚗 Dambulla / Sigiriya to Kandy (2 nights): To complete your full exploration of the Cultural Triangle, you’ll head to Kandy, home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This Buddhist temple is believed to house a revered tooth that belonged to Lord Buddha himself – and therefore holds huge significance in the Buddhist religion. A short walk from the temple complex is the pretty Kandy Lake, surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful retreat in the city.

🚗 Kandy to Beach (7 nights): After a full week of sightseeing, you’ll be ready to relax for the final half of your holiday and retreat to one of Sri Lanka’s stunning beach resorts. From the idyllic shores of Mirissa to the serene seclusion of Tangalle or the historic charm of Unawatuna near Galle, our travel experts will help you choose the ideal resort for you.

✈️ Beach to UK: Time to return to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
