✈️ UK – Tokyo (3 nights): On arrival in Tokyo, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the Asakusa district, where market stalls and traditional inns offer a glimpse into the old city. With three nights here, you’ll have time to explore both the ultra-modern and historic sides of Japan’s capital.
Enjoy a guided city tour visiting the beautiful Meiji Shrine before heading into modern Tokyo, with its landmark towers and flagship stores. You’ll then visit Sensō-ji, the city’s oldest temple, cruise down the Sumida River and stroll through serene Edo-period gardens. You’ll also have plenty of time to sample street food at local markets, witness the organised chaos of Shibuya Crossing, and relax in the gardens of the Imperial Palace.
🚝 Tokyo – Hakone (1 night): Next, travel by train to Hakone National Park, set in the mountains beneath the shadow of Mount Fuji. This peaceful retreat offers the ultimate escape from city life, where you can unwind amid hot springs, forests and lakes.
Ride the ropeway over the volcanic Owakudani Valley, take a scenic cruise across Lake Ashinoko, and at day’s end, relax in an onsen hot spring. You’ll stay overnight in a traditional Japanese ryokan, complete with sliding doors, rice-paper screens and tatami mats, for a true taste of Japan’s timeless hospitality.
🚝 Hakone – Kyoto (4 nights): Continue by train to Kyoto, the City of Ten Thousand Shrines, where you’ll spend four nights discovering Japan’s cultural heart. On your first day, join your guide to visit Sanjūsangen-dō Temple, famous for its 1,001 statues, followed by the Kyoto National Museum and the tranquil gardens of Chishaku-in Temple.
The next day stroll through Gion, home to Kyoto’s elusive geisha, and visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, with its striking tunnel of 10,000 red torii gates. Don’t miss Nishiki Market (“Kyoto’s Kitchen”) for a taste of authentic local life and cuisine.
🚝 Kyoto – Tokyo (1 night): Return to Tokyo for your final night, staying in the lively Shinjuku district. Enjoy dinner in one of the area’s ultra-chic restaurants, experience its neon nightlife, or embrace Japan’s fun-loving side with a karaoke session to round off your adventure.
✈️ Tokyo – UK: On your final day, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
