✈️ UK – Skiathos (4 nights): Begin your holiday on the stunning island of Skiathos, where lush pine forests meet crystal-clear azure waters. Despite its popularity, Skiathos remains wonderfully unspoilt, with over 60 beaches to choose from, ranging from secluded coves to lively, family-friendly stretches.
Start by exploring Skiathos Town, the island’s cosmopolitan capital, known for its yacht-lined harbour, chic boutiques, gourmet restaurants and stylish bars. Wander through the charming Old Town with its whitewashed buildings and cobbled lanes, all of which eventually lead you back to the bustling waterfront where you will find the heart of the island’s nightlife. While here, visit Bourtzi, a leafy peninsula home to the romantic ruins of a Venetian fortress and panoramic sea views.
For beach days, head south where golden sands are backed by fragrant pine forests. Koukounaries is Skiathos’ most famous beach, loved for its soft sand, calm waters, tavernas and watersports. For a slightly quieter spot, Troulos offers a similar mix of relaxation and convenience, while Kanapitsa, Agia Paraskevi and Vromolimnos are equally picturesque. The island’s quieter north is even more peaceful and full of charm. Visit Evangelistria, a hilltop town wrapped around an 18th-century monastery, famous for its frescoes and locally made honey, wine and olive oil. It’s also the starting point for scenic walking trails through forested hills and sleepy hamlets, which is a great way to glimpse into traditional island life.
🚢 Skiathos – Skopelos (3 nights): Take a short ferry ride (around one hour) to neighbouring Skopelos, and have your camera ready as its port is one of the most beautiful in Greece. Whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs tumble down the hillside beneath the remains of a Venetian fortress, while church towers and chapels dot the skyline.
Wander through Skopelos Town’s maze of narrow streets, where locals still gather over coffee and backgammon, and seafront restaurants serve freshly caught seafood. Known as the “island of monasteries,” Skopelos is home to dozens of them, with nearly a dozen perched on Mount Palouki alone. A walk between them reveals sunlit courtyards, cool interiors filled with icons, and breathtaking views.
Of course, no visit is complete without seeing the famous Agios Ioannis Chapel, perched high above the sea on the island’s northwest coast and made famous by the Mamma Mia! wedding scene. Whether you’re a fan of the film or not, the views from the top are truly unforgettable.
