Description

Ioa Valley State Park is one of the island’s most popular attractions. It has towering forest covered peaks which frame the lush valley, and it is home to the iconic Ioa Needle, a mountain peak that rises 1,200 feet from the valley floor. Hike the many trails or learn about the parks historical significance, which shaped the course of Hawaiian history.

A visit to the undeveloped town of Hana is also a must. The winding scenic coastal drive is enough to make the visit worthwhile, but the town is just as enchanting. Visit its Botanical Gardens, Luana Spa Retreat and do some hand gliding over Hana’s beautiful coastline.

The historic town of Lahaina, previously known as Lele is also worth exploring. It was once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom and has plenty of cultural treasures to visit, as well as its many shops, bars, restaurants and galleries.

You can also take a trip down the Wailuku River, Hawaii’s largest river, or what trip to Hawaii would be complete without a trip to the beach. Makena Beach state park is one of the largest beaches on the island and is a very popular sun spot, whilst Lahaina Beach is a prime spot for whale watching, shopping and dining.
