✈️ UK – Cape Town (2 nights): Welcome to Cape Town! There’s no shortage of things to see and do in this vibrant city, celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Some experiences, such as the cable car up Table Mountain, are best enjoyed on clear days to make the most of the panoramic views. Whether it’s hiking, touring wineries, or visiting the famous penguins at Boulders Beach, Cape Town offers exciting opportunities rain or shine. Be sure to check the forecast and plan your activities accordingly.

🚗 Cape Town – Trawal (1 night): Leave Cape Town behind as you journey up the picturesque west coast to the charming seaside town of Lamberts Bay. Known as the “diamond of the west coast,” it’s famed for its white beaches, fresh lobster and abundant birdlife. After some time to explore, continue on to Trawal, where you can unwind with sweeping views of rolling wine farms and the majestic Cederberg mountain range.

🚗 Trawal – Orange River (1 night): Bid farewell to South Africa as you cross the border into Namibia, heading for the tranquil banks of the Orange River. South Africa’s longest river flows from the towering Drakensberg Mountains all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, and was once vital for transporting diamonds, its course leaving rich deposits along the Namibian coast.

🚗 Orange River – Fish River Canyon (1 night): Spend a relaxed morning enjoying the river views before travelling to the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world. Stop at several viewpoints en route for spectacular photos of this vast natural wonder. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including plovers, hammerkops and herons. As the sun sets, you might even spot baboons or antelope moving through the rocky terrain.

🚗 Fish River Canyon – Sesriem (1 night): Continue north to the eastern edge of the Namib Desert, home to some of the planet’s most ancient and dramatic landscapes. Take in the ever-changing scenery as you drive, then relax at your desert lodge and absorb the serene beauty of your surroundings.

🚗 Sesriem – Sossusvlei (1 night): The name “Sesriem” comes from the Afrikaans for “six belts,” referring to the knotted thongs once used to draw water from the canyon. Today, it’s the gateway to the towering dunes of Sossusvlei. If you’re feeling energetic, climb Dune 45 for unforgettable sunrise views across the desert.

🚗 Sossusvlei – Swakopmund (2 nights): Depart the desert for the Atlantic coast, crossing the vast Namib and pausing at the Kuiseb Canyon before reaching the charming resort town of Swakopmund. Wander the beach, browse the open-air markets, or learn more about the area’s fascinating history at the local museum.

🚗 Swakopmund – Damaraland (2 nights): Head off the beaten path into the rugged wilderness of Damaraland, where dramatic mountain scenery and star-filled skies await. This remote region is the ancestral homeland of the Damara people and home to desert-adapted elephants as well as rare flora and fauna that thrive in this harsh yet striking environment.

🚗 Damaraland – Etosha National Park (2 nights): Travel to Etosha National Park, one of Namibia’s top wildlife havens. Here, herds of elephants, giraffes, and antelope roam the open plains, while lions and leopards stalk the savannah. The park’s sparse vegetation and shimmering salt pan make it an exceptional place for photography and game viewing.

🚗 Etosha – Windhoek (1 night): Continue to Windhoek, Namibia’s lively capital. Its colonial German architecture blends with a modern African spirit, creating a city full of charm and contrast. Spend your final evening exploring its cafés, craft markets, or excellent restaurants.

✈️ Windhoek – UK: After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Namibia as you transfer to the airport for your flight home.
