This is a great self-drive holiday combining Cape Town with the highlights of the Garden Route, along with a Safari and a chance to explore the Winelands. This really does showcase the best of South Africa with minimal travelling.

2 Nights – Winelands
2 Nights – Hermanus
1 Night – Mossel Bay
3 Nights – Knysna/Plettenberg Bay
2 Nights – Safari
1 Night – Port Elizabeth (Optional)
✈ UK – Cape Town (4 Nights): You will fly from your chosen UK airport to Cape Town. Upon arrival we will meet you and transfer you to your first hotel where you will stay 4 nights.
Cape Town really does have it all. The scenery is stunning, a trendy city and harbour, with the spectacular Table Mountain acting as a back drop and surrounded by powder white beaches. Get out of the city and explore the Cape Peninsula, with its vast array of breath-taking beaches and bays. Fantastic cuisine and wonderful wines await you in every restaurant. There’s a huge diversity of animals too, make sure you visit the penguins, or another firm favourite is the shark diving! For a bit of retail therapy there are designer shops at the V&A waterfront, as well as craft markets throughout the city. If adventure sports are your thing, there are just too many to name, or for culture take the boat trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated.
🚗 Cape Town – Winelands (2 Nights): On your last day in Cape Town we will have a car ready for you to collect and you will then leave the city and head to the Winelands, where you’ll spend 2 nights. The Winelands are an easy 90 min drive from Cape Town, and home to the famous vineyards of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek. The scenery along the route is quite mountainous with the vineyards covering the gently sloping valleys. The towns boasts galleries and boutiques, which are perfect for browsing. The dining options are incredible, with a huge array of world-class restaurants and the Wine Train is a great way of getting around the area so you can relax and enjoy sampling the region’s produce!
🚗 Winelands – Hermanus (2 Nights): Next stop is the world’s whale watching capital, the sleepy seaside town of Hermanus. With Voeklip Beach, Klipgat Cave and prime whale-spotting views along Cliff Path Walk, Hermanus also has terraced wineries, farmers markets, a big cat sanctuary, plus lovely galleries, restaurants and small shops. You’ll have 2 nights here.
🚗 Hermanus – Mossel Bay (1 Night): Your next stop marks the start of the famous Garden Route. This pretty harbour town is known for its wide and stretching Santos Beach, its picturesque lighthouse and its seafood restaurants.
🚗 Mossel Bay – Knysna / Pettenberg Bay (3 Night): Leaving Mossel Bay, you’ll travel along one of the world’s most breath-taking coastlines. You can stop at George to explore this quaint town, and the meerkats in Wilderness are also worth a visit. You then have the option to stay in Knysna, Pettenberg or split your stay between the two.
Knysna has a lovely harbour with shops, bars and restaurants, and is surrounded by woodland which can be explored on foot or bicycle. The beach town of Plettenberg is idyllic and peaceful with a stunning white beach. There are various attractions that surround this area, there’s a wild cat sanctuary where you can walk with cheetahs and if you’re daring enough there’s the world’s highest bungee jump.
🚗 Knysna – Safari (2 Nights): You’ll next drive a short distance to your Safari Lodge, where you’ll be able to experience one of the great safaris the Garden Route has to offer. You’ll be able to choose from some of the most luxurious safari lodges, and get to see the big 5 in all their glory.
🚗 Safari – Port Elizabeth (1 Night): After your safari, you can you’ll then head to the beach town of Port Elizabeth where you’ll spend your final night.

I am very happy with the booking of our holiday. Kadie discussed with me our requirements - our preference for an airport and what sort of accommodation we would like and as far as I can tell she has followed it to the letter. We look forward to our trip in September

Hannah and the team did an excellent job of organising our holiday in Italy, even informing us about a train strike while we there and booking us on to a coach instead. They gave us helpful directions from the airport to the hotel. The accommodation was very good with spacious rooms, delicious breakfasts and helpful receptionists giving us directions to the city centres. All in all we had a brilliant time.
