✈️ UK – Athens (3 nights): Arriving in Athens, take time to wander this bustling ancient city, where history and modern life blend seamlessly. With three nights here, you can enjoy leafy squares, public gardens and the city’s vibrant café culture. Athens boasts a thriving contemporary arts scene and lively nightlife. Head to the Syntagma and Monastiraki areas for chic bars after dark, or explore the up-and-coming Metaxourgiou neighbourhood for art galleries and hip restaurants. No visit is complete without exploring the city’s ancient wonders. Start by climbing up to the Acropolis, home to the 5th-century BC Parthenon. The new 2.5-mile Archaeological Promenade provides a pleasant, tree-lined walkway linking all the city’s major historic sites, making sightseeing effortless. Be sure to see the Acropolis illuminated at night as it’s a truly magnificent specticle.
⛴️ Athens – Santorini (3 nights): From the port of Piraeus, take a ferry to the beautiful island of Santorini. Famous for its whitewashed villages perched on dramatic cliffs, this volcanic island is instantly recognisable for its blue-domed churches and spectacular sunsets. With three days here, you’ll have time to explore the lively towns, archaeological sites and striking black-sand beaches. Shaped by a huge volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, Santorini’s dramatic caldera dominates the landscape, so soak in its views with a cocktail or unwind in the nearby hot springs. The main towns of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia line the caldera’s rim, and walking between them or even partway is a highlight, filled with breathtaking viewpoints and winding alleys. Be sure to end one evening in Oia to witness the island’s legendary sunset.
⛴️ Santorini – Crete (4 nights): Sail on to Crete, the largest of the Greek islands, where pristine beaches meet ancient history. While it’s tempting to simply relax in a luxury beach resort, Crete offers a wealth of culture and adventure. Visit the ancient Palace of Knossos, the cradle of Minoan civilisation, and uncover the myths of the Minotaur. Explore the vibrant city of Heraklion with its bustling market and fascinating Archaeological Museum, or take a scenic hike through the Samaria Gorge to discover Europe’s longest limestone canyon. The charming harbour town of Chania is another highlight, with its Venetian port, narrow lanes, boutiques and waterfront tavernas perfect for dining as the sun sets.
