If the most popular islands are top of your list then a visit to Barbados, St Lucia or Antigua is probably on the cards. Barbados is the Caribbean’s most visited island, with numerous stunning beaches, a wide choice of tourist attractions and numerous chic bars and renowned restaurants. St Lucia is a more peaceful option and is said to be the most stunning island in the Caribbean, boasting lush rainforest, secluded bays and the famous volcanic Pitons. Antigua should also be somewhere you consider, it offers the all-round Caribbean experience, it boasts more stunning beaches than any other island, a great climate and all the activities you could imagine

If fine dining and elegant hotels are important factors, but you also want to experience a small sophisticated destination then Anguilla, St Barths, The Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands would all be ideal.

For islands with great character Grenada with its quaint capital and its real sense of tradition make it one to consider. Tobago is another, an untouched paradise with plenty to explore, above land and under water and Cuba is another great choice, boasting a rich history, a fiery Latino spirit and an infectious mix of music, dancing and nostalgia.

Alternatively how about islands that are unique but are off the main tourist trail, islands like the tiny 5 square mile island of Saba, the rugged island of Dominica or the British island of Monsterrat with its active volcano.
