Description

Location: The Bequia Beach Hotel is located on the unspoiled and intimate island of Bequia in the Grenadines, considered by many to be the Caribbean’s best kept secret. Just a short plane hop from St Lucia or Barbados, the island offers its own inimitable old-style charm. The locals will tell you that the island hasn’t changed in decades and has no plans to either! The Bequia Beach Hotel enjoys an idyllic setting, nestled between lush rainforest, turquoise waters, and the powdery white sand beach of Friendship Bay Beach. If you can drag yourself away from the hotel, there is plenty to do on your doorstep on the island, such as a trip to nearby Port Elizabeth, a hike up to Bequia’s highest point, Mount Peggy, a visit to Fort Hamilton, an 18th century fort overlooking Admiralty Bay, or a trip to a local turtle sanctuary.

Facilities: Guests can enjoy a variety of facilities at the hotel, including two pools, one of which is saltwater, a fitness centre and luxury spa – plus of course direct access to the pristine sands of Friendship Bay Beach. The hotel also offers a range of complimentary equipment to make the most of the beautiful aquamarine waters, including kayaks, snorkelling, surfboards, and body boards. Try out the complimentary weekly yoga class or splash out and charter the hotel’s superyacht to see the nearby islands in a new perspective. Guests will also enjoy an invitation to the owner and manager’s weekly cocktail party.

Bars and Restaurants: Bagatelle is the hotel’s main restaurant where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in its divine setting directly next to the beach with stunning views across the sea with the soundtrack of waves crashing against the shore.  The cuisine is internationally inspired with classic Caribbean influences and locally sourced produce, including freshly caught seafood delivered several times a week by Bequia’s local fishermen. Next to the restaurant you will find the hotel bar, ‘Bequia Beach Bar’ where you can enjoy a refreshing drink during the day or aperitifs at night.  During high season, the bar also puts on live music and entertainment, where you can let your hair down and dance barefoot on the beach.

The Blue Tropic and Bar is open seasonally and offers an Italian influenced menu.  Its elevated position, tucked away at the top of the resort on the hillside, makes it the perfect choice for a romantic evening.

Hop on the hotel’s free daily shuttle and make your way to Jack’s Beach Bar, owned by the hotel, but situated on neighbouring Princess Margaret Beach, renamed as such after the late princess swam in the deep calm waters during her honeymoon. The bar has a very chilled, laid-back bohemian vibe, offering fresh, simple cuisine and a fabulous range of signature cocktails, offering the perfect way to enjoy this stunning stretch of beach any time of day or night.

Accommodation:  Accommodation ranges from classic rooms with their own terrace/balcony, to more luxurious suites with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and private villas with their own private pool. The décor throughout the hotel is a perfect blend of modern and classic Caribbean charm with the use of natural materials including whitewashed furniture, bamboo, and rattan.
