One of The Seven Natural Wonders of the World and set in an area of immense natural beauty, both under and above the water. It isn’t hard to see why visitors flock to the Great Barrier Reef.

Description

The Reef is over 1800 miles long (longer than the Great Wall of China) and stretches along the Queensland coast in the north east of Australia. It is home to over 400 different types of coral, more than 1500 species of tropical fish plus various molluscs, rays, dolphins, reptiles and giant clams which have been around for over 120 years!

The Great Barrier Reef is naturally a scuba divers’ and snorkellers’ paradise, offering some of the best diving and snorkelling in the world. There are countless scuba diving schools to choose from, where you can learn how to dive or continue your diving education. You can choose from daily dive trips to extended dive or snorkelling trips which last about 3 days aboard a dive vessel where you will visit various sites in different outer Great Barrier Reef locations.

Because the reef covers such a vast expanse, visitors can stay in various places along the coastline with easy access to the Reef. Some choose to stay on one of the Great Barrier Reef Islands which are dotted along the reef, or one of the magnificent Whitsunday Islands, or you may choose to make your base on the mainland in Cairns, Palm Cove or Port Douglas.

One thing is for sure – you will be amazed by the natural wonder and beauty of this outstanding coral reef.
