For a day at the beach there are numerous options. Venice Beach is probably the most well-known, more for the eccentric people that congregate there, rather than the beach itself, but it’s definitely somewhere to check out – even if it’s just to people watch. Manhattan Beach, Long Beach and Huntington Beach are the city’s most popular, offering a more typical beach experience with various bars, shops and restaurants and each offering a stunning stretch of beach to enjoy. Santa Monica is also well worth visiting, with its famous pier, its stunning 2 mile long beach, and its relaxing vibe – this is what California is about.
