Description

Location: Located on Benguerra Island which is 14km north east of the Mozambique town of Vilanculos – the nearest town with an international airport. Access is gained by a two hour flight to Vilanculos from Johannesburg and then a ten minute helicopter ride out to the island.

Facilities: For water lovers, this really is paradise. Scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, sailing and island visits can all be arranged, allowing you to see turtle, dolphins, shark, eels, rays and tropical fish up close and personal.

For guests who are less keen to get their feet wet, there is a small exercise room at the resort, or you may prefer to have a drive around the island, go on a day trip to Vilanculos, have a beach picnic and soak up the suns rays, or perhaps treat yourself to a leisurely massage at the resorts own spa.

Restaurants & Bars: There are a number of eateries at Azura, depending on whether you want formal or informal dining, a full meal or simply a snack. All are catered for and staff are only too happy to adhere to your personal requests, both for location and personal tastes.

Accommodation: Comfort, simplicity and style are all very much evident here. The villas, constructed on the sand, are made of traditional materials and each is secluded as a result of surrounding foliage. All have individual plunge pools and sunbathing decks, only feet away from the beach. Feel free to shower or bathe under the stars, to the sound of lapping waves! A rather unique service is provided by way of your individual local Mozambican host, who will serve your meals, organise activities and accompany you on excursions if required.
