Description
With one of our Tailor-Made South Africa Holidays you’re in control of the itinerary, we’re simply here to offer advice to help you get the most out of your holiday and get it at the most cost effective price.
From the diverse cities and towns, to the wide range of wildlife and activities on offer, you’ll definitely not be short of options.
The highlight of any trip to South Africa has to be Cape Town in the Western Cape. The vistas are breath-taking, from Table Mountain to the marina, and from the beaches across the cityscape. Explore the bustling markets in the city bowl and visit the stylish bars and boutiques in the V&A. You can discover the various suburbs offering unique shops and restaurants, or for beachside relaxation head to Camps Bay, Cape Town’s trendy beach resort, offering a pristine white beach with swaying palms trees and some of the trendiest restaurants in town.
The wildlife in the Cape Peninsula is extraordinary, go whale watching in Hermanus, visit the penguins on Boulders Beach or you can even go shark diving. For the active, there’s everything from water-sports to abseiling down Table Mountain. You could spend your days relaxing on the stunning beaches or visit the Winelands to explore the beautiful towns such as Stellenbosch and of course some wine-tasting.
We’d also highly recommend driving the Garden Route – one of the world’s most famous drives. You can take in some amazing views and visit many enchanting places along the way. Mossel Bay is surprisingly large town, with a wide selection of shops and restaurants, there’s also a golf course, casino and many coastal trails you can hike. George is a small city with numerous old buildings. Oudtshoorn offers the famous Cango caves and Cango Wildlife ranch. Wilderness offers a never-ending expanse of rivers, lakes and beaches and is an ideal place to relax. Knysna, the famous oyster town is a compact town, with excellent seafood restaurants, a waterfront harbour providing various boutiques and bars and for the more adventurous, the lush forests, lagoons and rivers offer a wealth of activities. Plettenberg is a beautiful coastal town where you can play golf, hike, canoe, fish, water ski, paraglide and horseback ride to name but a few, it also has the most striking beach. Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and Plettenberg Game Reserve are close by where you can see a wide variety of South Africa’s indigenous wildlife. Tsitsikamma National park offers a range of adventure sports such as zip wiring down waterfalls, canopy tours, and the world’s tallest bungee jump – Tenikwa Wildcat Sanctuary is also a must! Port Elizabeth known as ‘The friendly city’ is the last city along the route, it just oozes relaxed hospitality and whether you’re browsing its shops or walking along the beach you’ll feel the relaxed vibe.
The Garden Route finishes in the Eastern Cape where you’ll find some of South Africa’s best beaches, including the world famous Jeffrey’s Bay beach, as well as excellent game reserves such as Shamwari. After the Eastern Cape you will come to KwaZulu Natal which is a world in one province and a mix of African, European and Indian cultures. Durban is the provinces hub and buzzes with all the energy of a major port city, with numerous luxury hotels along the beachfront, this is South Africa’s Miami Beach. To the North of Durban you will find some of South Africa’s best game reserves and to the West lie the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, an adventure tourist’s playground and there are also the famous battlefields to visit. The province also boasts two World Heritage Sites, the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and the Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg Park.
Next travel on to Mpumalanga province; one of South Africa’s top tourist destinations. Known as “Paradise Country”, few regions in the world can match the extraordinary beauty. It covers nearly 80 000 km² from rolling highlands to the lofty escarpment and the lush wetlands. It also boasts some of the country’s most well-known game reserves such as Kruger National Park, you can visit the Echo Caves, as well as Gods Window.
Next you’ll come to Gauteng and a quick visit to Pretoria is highly recommended, known as the Jacaranda City for all the purple blossom bedecked trees. Pretoria is a lovely, quiet city where you will find significant old buildings and fascinating museums. Next you can head to Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. Johannesburg is the wealthiest and, without doubt, the economic powerhouse of Africa and is well worth exploring however from here you can connect to anywhere in the world. So from here, whether you want to fly home or on to somewhere else, the choice is yours. How about finishing you trip on one of the stunning beaches in Mauritius or Zanzibar.

I had never heard of eshores till I decided to plan a multi-stop holiday in Turkey some weeks ago. The decision to use eshores was based on a quick internet search for any help I could get with this. So, i wasnt really expecting much. As the planning was at relatively short notice...and we had never travelled to Turkey, I was pleasantly surprised at the support I had from Rachel at eshores who listened to what I wanted and was patient to go back and forth with me till I had the exact holiday I wanted (Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya). I always had a response with every query(and I had quite a few!!). The travel itself worked like a dream...both international and domestic flights were straightforward, but even more surprising was how reliable the multiple taxis to and fro airports were, even when picking up at 0330!! Overall, the experience has been very positive and I would be very happy to use the service again

Nick arranged a 2 week trip to Argentina & Brazil for us in March. We were happy with the itinerary he put together and his choice of hotels. We had a good level of contact from taxi companies for collections at airports & hotels. On our return he checked everything had gone smoothly which was a nice touch. I mentioned that I was looking for a beach holiday in a couple of months and he put together some hotels at a good price so I’ve booked again with him. I would definitely use Nick, EShores, again and recommend them to friends.
