Vietnam really does offer a world of possibilities and whether you want to explore the highlights or see it all we can help. You could even combine your stay in Vietnam with a visit to another country.

Vietnam’s understated capital is a city that should by high on your agenda and being set in the far north it makes the ideal place to start your Vietnam adventure. Hanoi’s elegance and charm is reflected in the city’s French colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and its bustling Old Quarter.

If you’re visiting Hanoi you should definitely consider a trip to the coast to see Halong Bay, where you can witness some of the majestic and mysterious scenery Vietnam is famous for. A boat cruise around this World Heritage Site is the ideal way to take in these stunning vistas, 3000 incredible limestone islands that rise out the emerald waters, creating caves, arches, cliffs and secluded coves.

You could also head further north it to the hills to the French hill station of Sapa. If you want to see the region at a leisurely pace then a train journey makes for a great option, however if you’re after a bit more of an adventure then on foot you can explore villages, pass through terraced paddy fields and take in the stunning scenery of the Tonkinese Alps.

If the country’s imperial past is what interests you then a visit to the city of Hue is highly recommended. This city marks the halfway point between the north and south and it is often referred to as Vietnam’s most beautiful city. Principal sights are the romantic, meditative Perfume River, the remains of the Citadel and the grand Tombs of the Emperors. Charming Hue is the ideal destination to experience Vietnam’s past with many beautiful pagodas, tombs and temples dotted along the river.

From Hue you can also visit the nearby seaside resorts of Da Nang and Hoi An. Da Nang combines the buzz of a bigger city but also offers beautiful beaches and great restaurants – a popular and ideal place for fun and relaxation. Separated by a short drive across the picturesque Hai Van Pass, laid back Hoi An has a fascinating history, colonial architecture and a stunning beach. This charming coastal town boasts several World Heritage Sites and is an ideal stop for several lazy days.

Further south you’ll find Nha Trang which provide an all-round beach resort experience and is Vietnam’s most popular beach resort. This is where you will find the majority of the country’s most luxurious beach hotels, plus some of the country’s most stunning coastline with long stretches of pristine white sands and clear waters, there’s also plenty to keep you entertained, day and night.

Alternatively for something a little more peaceful and secluded you can head to some of the beach resorts in the south of the country. Mui Ne, Phan Thiet and Phu Quoc Island are all great options. Not long ago all you would find was unknown fishing villages but now they’re fast becoming popular with tourists but still offer and untouched feel. They’re also popular with water sports enthusiasts and kite surfers due to the winds that are common in the south.

Also in the south of Vietnam is the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh which is the most popular of Vietnam’s cities and should not to be missed. It’s the cultural heart of the nation and this fast-paced metropolis, still referred to as Saigon, is an eye opening experience of commerce and traditions. From here you can also visit the famous Chu Chi Tunnels or visit the sleepy villages along the Mekong Delta.
