2 Nights – Nizwa
3 Nights – Jebel Akhdar
5 Nights – Muscat

✈️ UK to Nizwa (2 nights): Arriving in Muscat, you’ll be whisked away by your private transfer to kick off your Omani adventure in the ancient city of Nizwa, located about a 1 ½ hour drive away. This charming city known as the ‘Pearl of Islam,’ was once the capital of Oman and offers an authentic taste of Oman’s past and present.  A great place to start exploring is the Nizwa Fort, a stunning 17th-century fortress with wonderful views of the city and mountains.   Then, wander through the labyrinthine and bustling Nizwa Souk, where sellers will barter with you over Omani crafts, spices, dates and silver, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the city. If you’re after a relaxing spot to cool off after the souk, head to the Falaj Daris Park, named after the UNESCO-listed irrigation system that still flows through it. It’s a peaceful spot to take in both nature and an example of ancient Omani engineering.  Finally, to experience the more spiritual side of the city, head to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. Smaller than the mosque of the same name in Muscat, it’s no less beautiful.  With whitewashed domes and intricate carvings offer a peaceful retreat to reflect and observe the local Omani way of life in this sacred space.

🚗  Nizwa to Jebel Akhdar (3 nights):  The next stop on your Omani exploration is the stunning mountain range of Jebel Akhdar located in the Al Hajar mountains. Known as the ‘Green Mountain,’ it offers cool temperatures and stunning views.  The area is perfect for outdoors lovers with plenty of opportunities for walking, canyoning, and exploring dramatic cliff faces.  Or you could just sit and relax and enjoy the stunning views and peaceful surroundings, taking in Oman’s natural beauty in its most rugged form. One of the highlights of Jebel Akhdar is its terraced rose gardens. These gardens not only offer incredible views but are also a vital part of the region’s heritage.  Join a guided tour to learn about how they’re grown and used to make rose water for perfumes and local products.

🚗  Jebel Akhdar to Muscat (5 nights): Your adventure will come to an end in Muscat, Oman’s capital. We recommend staying at one of the city’s idyllic beach resorts just outside the hustle and bustle, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. Spend your days unwinding on pristine sands with the gentle Arabian Sea as your backdrop or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. When you’re ready to explore, Muscat’s cultural treasures are within easy reach. Visit the awe-inspiring Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, catch a performance at the Royal Opera House or admire the Al Jalali and Al Mirani fort.   For an afternoon on the water, take a traditional dhow cruise or join a dolphin-watching tour from Marina Bandar Al Rowdha. Finally, to fully immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of Muscat, head to the Mutrah Souq, where you can haggle for wares and pick up some souvenirs to take home.

✈️ Muscat to UK:  Your Omani adventure comes to an end as you hop on your plane back to the UK.
