Itinerary
4 Nights – Perth
1 Night – Cervantes
2 Nights – Geraldton
2 Nights – Monkey Mia
3 Nights – Coral Bay
2 Nights – Exmouth
✈ UK-Perth (4 Nights): After flying from the UK, you will arrive in Perth and be taken to your hotel where you’ll want to relax after your flight. With four nights in Perth you can take your time to discover this wonderful city with its pretty beaches and record amount of sunshine.
Perth is different from Australia’s East coast cities, it’s renowned for its laid-back lifestyle, but with a plethora of restaurants, bars and shops you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Set around the Swan River, it has a stunning natural setting and is a fantastic city to explore both on foot and from the water. Make sure you head to the vast King’s Park for wonderful views over the city. Also take a day trip cruise along the river to Freemantle, an incredibly picturesque working port city on the Indian Ocean, known for its charming Victorian and Georgian architecture and its fascinating history, markets and museums. Another great day trip is to visit the Island of Rottnest just 11 miles off shore from Perth. Virtually car free, the island is an A-Class reserve and home to unusual flora and fauna including the rare quokka which looks like a tiny kangaroo.
🚗 Perth-Cervantes (1 Night): It’s time to pick up your car and begin your road trip north by setting off for the Namburg National Park. Drive or walk through the park to admire the incredible limestone pillars of the Pinnacles desert. Formed over millions of years it feels like an extraordinary lunar landscape. The small nearby coastal fishing town of Cervantes is where you’ll stay the night. Famed for its lobsters, enjoy a delicious seafood supper after a dip in the Indian Ocean.
🚗 Cervantes-Geraldton (2 Nights): The next day you’ll head on to Geraldton, the gateway for the Kalbarri National Park. Here you can enjoy walking through the dramatic rock formations and canyons. Stay two nights in Geraldton to make the most of the stunning scenery with its river gorges and coastal cliffs. Nature’s Window, is perhaps the most iconic of Western Australia’s views but the Z-bend Lookout is equally as breath-taking as the gorge plunges down to the river below. Whale watching is also very popular from the high up point of Red Bluff.
🚗 Geraldton-Monkey Mia (2 Nights): The following day continue to head north along the coastal highway to Monkey Mia, the dolphin reserve in the Shark Bay Marine Park. Renowned as one of the best and most reliable places for wild dolphin interaction, you can stand within metres of the bottlenose dolphins as they are fed in the shallows of the clear waters. Stay two nights here so you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, walks and activities within the park. The World Heritage site of Shark Bay is an area of unique wildlife and stunning scenery including red sand hills, quiet beaches and Aboriginal Shelter caves. Take a 4-wheel drive tour, go fishing, kayaking or caving in this dramatic landscape.
🚗 Monkey Mia – Coral Bay (3 Nights): Continuing your drive up the coast, head to Coral Bay, the southern gateway to the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park. Stay three nights here before heading on to Exmouth on the northern side of the park so you’ve got plenty of time to enjoy this stunning coastal area. Whales, dolphins, manta rays, turtles and whale sharks are abundant at Ningaloo Reef. The reef is so close to the land that unlike most large reefs around the world you can easily snorkel from the shore. This is the place to go diving but if you prefer, cruise in a glass bottom boat to admire the vibrant coral reef as well as the endless varieties of tropical fish.
🚗 Coral Bay – Exmouth (2 Nights): Nearby Turquoise bay is simply stunning with a white sandy beach and clear azure waters, the perfect place to spend a day snorkelling or relaxing. When you move on to Exmouth visit the Cape Range National Park with its’ spectacular rocky gorges that adjoin the beautiful pristine coastline. With abundant wildlife you’ll be able to see emus, red kangaroos as well as incredible birdlife. A boat trip along Yardie Creek is a must to view the wildlife from the river which flows between sheer cliffs.
✈Exmouth – UK: At the end of this stunning road trip drive to nearby Learmouth and fly back to Perth. From there you’ll fly home after a trip of a lifetime exploring the reefs and spectacular scenery of Western Australia.

Gavin at Eshores tailor made me an itinerary to Argentina which met my wishes perfectly and I felt was very good value for money. I have used Eshores before to Borneo and before that Sri Lanka and the organisation has always been excellent so I am confident this will be the same.
