If you’re looking for a rainforest adventure with exotic wildlife and incredible natural landscape then this is the trip for you. Borneo is renowned for its wonderful unspoilt rainforest, and of course, the famous orangutans. Combine this with adventures in giant limestone caves, followed by a week relaxing on a tropical beach and you’ve got a holiday of a lifetime!
UK – Kuala Lumpur/Singapore: Your holiday will start with a direct flight from your chosen UK airport to either Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. If you would like to, you can stay a couple of nights to explore the city first before taking a flight on to Kuching. Both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore have so much to see and do; there are temples, skyscrapers and night markets – and not forgetting the fantastic local cuisine to enjoy!
Kuala Lumpur – Kuching: We will then fly you on to Kuching on Malaysian Borneo, from here you can choose to either stay in the state capital of Kuching or in the Permai Rainforest for four nights. Staying in colourful Kuching means that you can visit the orangutan sanctuaries on day trips to the rainforest as well as explore the city’s colonial roots, temples and museums. Or if you prefer, you can stay in the heart of the jungle at the Permai Rainforest eco resort. There are endless exciting activities to take part in; take a guided trek through the jungle to have your eyes opened to the tropical flora and fauna, catch a glimpse of an orangutan swinging through the jungle canopy, visit the hospitable indigenous people in their longhouse communities or even spot an Irrawaddy dolphin in the South China Sea.
Kuching – Gunung Mulu: You will then take a short flight on to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Gunung Mulu National Park close to the Malaysian / Brunei border. With three nights here you will have time to explore the park famous for its spectacular limestone caves and karsts. With boat trips down rivers and treks across bamboo bridges and along plank walkways, reaching the magnificent caves is a jungle adventure in itself. Inside each cave is different; some with clear water and others with giant stalagmites and stalactites and, without a doubt these are some of the most incredible caves in the world.
Gunung Mulu – Kota Kinabalu: Flying onto Kota Kinabalu, further east in Borneo, you will then have seven nights staying on the white powder-soft sandy shores of the stunning South China Sea. Here you can enjoy a week of wonderful beach relaxation before flying back to the UK, either via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Leanne was a delight to work with, proactively suggesting options, whilst remembering they had to be practical. What I appreciated most was how responsive and efficient Leanne was. Everything was handled promptly. Even though we haven’t taken the trip yet, I already feel confident that things will run smoothly thanks to the excellent groundwork that Leanne put in place.

I’ve now lost count of the trips I’ve booked with Gavin at e-shores and how he always manages to know exactly what we like and gets a great price - always the same or less than I research myself. Our latest was Greek island hopping to Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini and the hotels Gavin booked were all outstanding and the typically small, boutique hotels with less crowds. We went out of season (1st - 13th Sept) and everything went smoothly from the airport transfers, the welcome we had at each hotel and the beauty of each island having its own magic. Looking forward to the next trip already booked through Gavin in November! Thank you everyone-shores - the Napiers!

Claire Smith offered invaluable support in arranging our travel by air to Portugal pluse trains around the country, offering a choice of three hotels in every stop. She expanded our initial thoughts of Lisbon and Porto to include fantastic destinations that we would not have thought of - Guimaraes, Aveiro and Sintra. And she suggested tours we might enjoy. She listened. She selected hotels on the basis of what we told her we would like, from the feel of them to their location and the facilities they had. She was on the end of the phone when I needed her and made me feel there would be help at the end of the phone in an emergency abroad. We're looking forward to our getaway, secure in the knowledge it has been tailor maide to our requirements.

Our travel consultant, whom we have worked with for a few trips now, was given a wide ranging, complex and extensive overseas tour itinerary to quote for my wife and I. Not only did she return the quote within a matter of days but it was an amazing price and the hotels of our choice were mainly booked. The administration backed up the agreed quote with all relevant documents and we paid the deposit. All was done with the utmost efficiency, accuracy and speed. Wiil be back!!
