Description

Location: Situated on a private beach in the parish of St James in the north coast of Jamaica, the hotel is located a handy 15 minutes’ drive from Montego Bay Sangster International Airport.

Facilities: For those that struggle to spend more than ten minutes on a sunbed, you will be pleased to know that the facilities at Half Moon are second to none. One of the most popular activities on the resort is the natural Dolphin Lagoon, where you can meet, swim and even kiss the dolphins. The resort also boasts its own equestrian centre where guests can take lessons and also enjoy an unforgettable movie-style experience with a swim in the sea with your horse! Alternatively, spend an afternoon on the championship golf course and academy or test your backhand at one of the 13 tennis courts or squash courts or try out the range of water sports available. If you are more inclined towards a spot of relaxation, you will love the three swimming pools, award-winning luxury spa and outdoor yoga pavilion. For younger guests, there is a fabulous children’s centre plus a teens club.

Bars and Restaurants The Half Moon boasts a range dining options from fine dining to more casual restaurants. Take your pick from the Seagrape Terrace which serves breakfast, lunch and gourmet evening meals; Il Giardino, an Italian restaurant; The Sugar Mill, considered one of Jamaica’s best restaurants offering Caribbean and fusion cuisine and the Pepperpot, serving Jamaican cuisine (in peak season). For a more casual meal, head to Prakash, which offers Indian and Thai food – or the Beach Bbq (held once a week). There are also several bars where you can enjoy a cooling drink.

Accommodation: The hotel offers 197 rooms and suites plus 24 villas, which are housed in elegant colonial cottages that are dotted over the 400 acres of grounds. Each room or suite features traditional Caribbean furnishings and fabulous views over the garden or ocean.
