Description

Location: One of Mozambique’s beautiful Quirimbas islands, situated off its north east coastline, the private island of Medjumbe is accessible via a 45 minute flight from Pemba, on the mainland.

Facilities: Relaxation is the theme on Medjumbe. You can stretch out next to the swimming pool or settle comfortably in the upstairs lounge for a cool, refreshing drink.

Its all about the water here, and Medjumbe has some of the best waters in the region to explore, with sailing, deep sea fishing, windsurfing, diving and kayaking activities available. The fantastic coral reefs and abundant sea life, including dolphins, whales, sea turtles and tropical fish, make every dive unique; and because the island is private, new dive sites are being discovered by guests all the time.

Restaurants & Bars: At the Medjumbe Island Resort dining is informal, with the dining area merging with the beach itself.

Accommodation: The 13 beach chalets are just footsteps from the shoreline and each has an ensuite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, minibar, satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Outside their chalet, guests face a difficult decision – whether to have a cooling dip in their private plunge pool and watch the Indian Ocean lapping just feet away, or stretch out in their hammock with a good book and soak up the sun’s rays.
