The resort has its own traditional long wooden boat for you to use when exploring the sparkling waters around the reef. In addition, scuba diving and game fishing can be arranged. If you prefer to stay on dry land, you may wish to hire a car, jeep or motorbike and explore the island at your own leisure. Of course, you may just prefer to soak up the rays on that fantastic beach, listening only to the sound of waves breaking on the shore.
Pongwe Beach’s consultant English chef was trained at The Dorchester Hotel in London and Lucas Carton in Paris, so is well placed to ensure that the in-house chefs serve only the freshest produce, cooked precisely to maximise the flavour.
Accommodation: There are 16 beach fronted, thatched roof cottages, with ensuite bathrooms, Moroccan-style walk-in showers and private terrace, so you can eat breakfast whilst watching the sun rise over the Indian Ocean. What a way to start the day!
