Location: The Zambezi Sun is situated on the banks of the Zambezi, close to the world-famous Victoria Falls. This hotel can be accessed by car from the international airport at Lusaka.
Description: Catering for couples and families alike, the Zambezi Sun is a cheerful, welcoming hotel, decorated in traditional African style. Wildlife stroll through the gardens, completely unphased by excited guests.
For the more adventurous, activities nearby include bungee jumping or white water rafting. For those not keen on such extreme sports, river cruises are available, or perhaps you’d like to indulge in something a little less dangerous and pay a visit to the hotel’s swimming pool or casino instead?
There is a restaurant and bar situated around the pool area, with a steakhouse also on site. Cuisine is prepared to suit all tastes, from typical English fare to traditional African dishes. Guests may also eat more informally around the pool if preferred, where entertainment is also regularly held.
Accommodation: The décor within the rooms is replicated from the main public buildings, being colourful and in traditional African style. All have ensuite facilities with both bath and shower, satellite TV and patio, looking out either onto the swimming pool or into the stunning African outback.
Our Opinion: Ideally situated, being only a short stroll to the gates of the Victoria Falls site, the Zambezi Sun is full of character and comes highly recommended specifically for families. The mist from the great Victoria Falls can be seen rising high into the air across the area – a magical experience and a recommended site from which to explore the delights of Zambia.
