Location: The Serengeti Sopa Lodge is sited within woodland in the Nyarboro Hills, to the south west of the Serengeti National Park which is, in turn, in south west Tanzania. A 50 minute flight and 45 minute drive from Arusha will bring you to this wonderful location.
Description: One of the few lodges in this region to provide hot air balloon safaris! Guests may also be taken on cultural tours of the local Maasai villages or on safari by foot or vehicle. In the migration season, special tours are organised to view this spectacular event.
Serengeti Sopa Lodge also has its own swimming pool, bar and restaurant overlooking the fantastic Serengeti plains.
Accommodation: There are 79 suites in total, each with its own private lounge space and minibar, queen sized beds, ensuite bathroom and private verandah offering views over the Serengeti.
Our Opinion: Although not the most luxurious of lodges, Serengeti Sopa nevertheless offers a good standard of accommodation, excellent service and a warm welcome. A visit during migration season is recommended.
