Location: Only a 40 minute flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport, Lake Manyara is situated in northern Tanzania. The lodge itself is perched high up on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, looking down onto the lake itself.
Description: Lake Manyara Serena Lodge is a haven for ornithologists, due to its clifftop location. However, tree climbing lions, monkeys, baboons, elephants and hippo are also abundant.
Safaris, both in vehicles and on foot, are organised daily. However, horse riding, mountain biking, abseiling and canoeing are also available.
The bar and restaurant offer either indoor or outdoor seating. Cuisine is varied, with African dishes, buffets and barbeques served. Each evening a campfire is prepared around which you may like to enjoy your after dinner drinks, whilst listening to a local musician.
