Maldives Holidays With a tropical climate the Maldives has warm temperatures all year round, averaging about 30°C (86°F). The hottest month is April and the coolest month is December, however the weather is determined mainly by the monsoons, which bring rain in mainly June and July, although tropical showers can break at any time. Generally the skies are clear blue and there is a gentle breeze in the air. The Maldives is a place for relaxation, activities are hotel and water based i.e snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing, on land you can lay on the beach with a good book or some resorts have a golf course. Entertainment is hotel based, the Maldives is not the place to go if you are looking for nightlife. Diving and Snorkelling are very popular in the Maldives due to the magnificent reefs. Local art & crafts include items made of coral and turtle shell. 1190 coral islands with fringing reefs grouped into natural atolls make up the Maldives. Situated in the Indian Ocean about 500km from the southern tips of both Sri Lanka and India. |
