Location: Perched on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second highest mountain, Serena is only around three and a half hours by car from Nairobi.
Description: The lodge is surrounded by rainforest, so is alive with the sounds of birds, monkeys and all of the forest’s other inhabitants, including rhino and elephant.
Serena is the obvious choice for hikers and mountain climbers. A tunnel links the lodge to bunkers which give a wonderful view of one of the main watering holes.
There is, of course, a bar and restaurant serving delicious meals.
Accommodation: 42 traditionally-styled guest rooms are available, all with private bathroom.
