Location: Only 90 minutes drive from Nairobi, the Mara Simba Lodge is situated in the world-renowned Masai Mara game reserve.
Description: Constructed along the banks of the River Talek, the lodge prides itself on being sympathetic to the environment. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and decorated in traditional Masai style.
There is a nature expert on site, who is delighted to hold regular talks and slide shows from the comfort of the lodge’s bar as well as giving guided safaris. In addition, the lodge has its own gift shop and large open air swimming pool.
The dining room offers a wide variety of dishes, all set under a beautiful thatched roof.
Accommodation: The accommodation comprises 54 guest rooms, all with their own verandah and ensuite bathroom. For a small fee, you can upgrade to a spacious tent, with views of the river.
Our Opinion: Although limited on entertainment facilities, the Mara Simba Lodge is a must for the more ardent naturist looking for a true African experience and education, rather than watersports and discos.
