Description This resort is described as a “retreat” and solitude is exactly what it offers. Comprising of only four thatched roof cottages amongst colourful gardens, many couples choose to spend their honeymoon here, revelling in its tranquillity and beauty.
Tijara as a resort is heavily involved with the local community, advising on issues such as education and conservation.
A particular favourite with golfers, Tijara Beach is close to Mombasa’s three main golf courses. Tours to Mombasa and National Parks can also be arranged, whilst bird watching, cave exploring or even deep sea diving and fishing are popular pursuits.
The main dining area offers al fresco feasting, although guests also have the option of dining on their verandah or on the clifftop itself. The food is fresh and the chef is more than happy to take individual requests for dishes.
Accommodation: In all of the cottages, the bedroom, complimented by ceiling fans and bathroom open out to your own private deck, ensuring that you’re kept cool and refreshed, luxuriating in the sounds of the ocean.
Our Opinion: Although it accepts children, we feel that Tijara Beach is better suited to adults. A romantic location, it provides the ideal backdrop, seclusion and relaxed ambiance to form the perfect honeymoon. For those looking for a little less socialising and a little more tranquillity, Tijara Beach is ideal.
