Location: Sands at Nomad is Kenya’s south coast’s first boutique hotel, situated at the popular destination of Diani, only around one hour from Mombasa.
Description: Created in 2005 by local artist Mario Scianna, Sands at Nomad presents a unique array of architecture, modelled with both Venetian and Swahili cultures in mind. Situated entirely within 25 acres of forest, the resort brings you up close and personal with the local environment and within touching distance of the area’s colobus monkeys.
Activities are laid on in abundance. Marine safaris, elephant spotting in the Shimba Hills or trips to one of the several nearby National Parks may be organised for you. Accommodation: The hotel has 18 double rooms, 7 beach front thatched roof cottages and three superior suites. All rooms have ensuite, satellite TV and air conditioning, several boasting their own private verandah and fantastic sea views. The suites also have their own Jacuzzi and stunning sea views.
