Location: Pinewood Village Beach Resort is situated on the peaceful shores of Galu Beach, south of Mobasa. Arguably one of the most beautiful beaches on the Kenyan coast, Pinewood is only 40km from the airport along an established road, with internal flights to game parks available from Ukunda, only 7km away.
Description: With only 38 rooms and 20 suites, Pinewood offers seclusion, privacy and tranquillity. Set amongst palm trees and lush vegetation, the hotel has won numerous awards including the Award for Customer Excellence in 2007. Most of the small but dedicated team of staff have been with the hotel for a number of years and are delighted to help out with whatever it is you need to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Pinewood has a state of the art business centre for those executives who need to work whilst on holiday, and a spa, to help you unwind and relax. It also has its own watersports centre, offering activities such as snorkling, scuba diving and sea safaris. If you prefer to remain on dry land however, you could try the squash facilities, burn off those extra pounds in the gym or enjoy taking part in the beach activities.
With a range of bars and eateries, guests really are spoilt for choice. From beach snacks to grown up dining, Pinewood’s outstanding chefs offer a wide variety of food from local to international cuisine. Sea food doesn’t come fresher than this, with mouth watering dishes including barbequed snapper and fresh steamed crabs in ginger on the menu. Those booking a suite will have the added benefit of their own personal chef, who will prepare their own superb dishes or whatever you request.
Accommodation: From its deluxe rooms to its executive suites, Pinewood is all about luxury. Newly renovated throughout, the accommodation has either garden or sea front views, allowing you to view the resort at all hours of the day and night. Mosquito nets are of course included in all rooms, draping king sized beds. Ceiling fans and air conditioning units are also installed and bathrooms are en-suite, with either large single or double shower units. Each room has internet facility and either a balcony or veranda. Refreshments are provided by way of tea/coffee and mini bar, and don’t forget that suites have the added benefit of a personal chef.
Our Opinion: Pinewood Village, being small and exclusive, is flexible enough to cater for all needs, whether it be an action packed holiday or relaxing getaway. Its location makes it an absolute winner as a Kenyan holiday location.
