Location: Malindi is one of Kenya’s top tourist attractions, only two hours from Mombasa airport. The Dream of Africa resort is situated on a beautiful sandy beach, near the town centre.
Description: Overlooking the Indian Ocean, Dream of Africa is an Indo-Arab style resort, built with relaxation in mind. Set amongst lush gardens, it offers the weary traveller a taste of the exotic.
Tsavo National Park is nearby for fantastic safari adventures. Alternatively, the nearby marine park offers a variety of watersports including scuba diving. If you want to experience the true African culture, the resort can arrange for you to have a tour of a nearby village or you may want to spend your money in the Curio Village in Malindi, where you can pick up some beautiful hand crafted items and toiletries.
There are two bars and restaurants at the resort, offering a wide variety of dishes and buffets, catering for you whether you prefer to eat formally or informally. Cuisine is principally Italian themed, using freshly caught sea food.
Accommodation: A small hotel, Dream of Africa has only 35 rooms consisting of 33 junior suites and 2 executive suites, ensuring you enjoy peace and quiet during your stay. Junior suites are located in exotic two level villas, whilst the executive suites are larger and have separate bedrooms with either a king size or twin beds. All rooms have private terraces overlooking the garden with air conditioning, room service, cable or satellite TV and in-room high speed broadband.
Our Opinion: Due to the limited amount of activities available, Dream of Africa is best suited to couples or older families who are simply looking to get away from it all. If you’re dreaming of relaxing in the sunshine, interspersed with the occasional fun activity, this resort is for you.
