Itinerary

2 Nights – Hanoi
3 Nights – Sapa by Train
1 Night – Halong Bay Cruise
6 Nights – Beach resort of your choice

✈ UK-Hanoi (2 Nights): Your journey will begin with a flight to Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi. On arrival at Hanoi airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. You will then spend 2 nights in Hanoi where you can discover its elegance and charm, reflected in its French colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and its bustling Old Quarter.

🚂  Hanoi – Sapa (3 Nights): The next part of your trip is a journey by train to the charming town of Sapa, set amidst the country’s highest and most spectacular mountains and paddy fields. On your last day in Hanoi, you will be taken to Hanoi train station where you will catch the overnight train, travelling in a shared cabin to Lao Cai. On arrival in Lao Cai you will be met and taken on a scenic drive up the mountains to the pretty town of Sapa. After some breakfast, you will be driven towards the Muong Hoa Valley, taking a walk through the largest terraced rice paddy area in the region and then onto the small villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, getting a chance to see, first hand, the unique lifestyles and culture of the village’s inhabitants. You will return to Sapa for lunch and may spend the afternoon to explore as you wish. You will stay one night in a local hotel and the following day, you will be driven out of Sapa onto the village of Giang Ta Chai, best known for its colourful Red Dzao people, whose women shave their heads and eyebrows and wear bright red turbans. After some lunch in Sapa, you can explore the town or the market at your leisure before returning to Lao Cai station in the evening for your overnight train back to Hanoi, travelling in a shared cabin.

🚗 Sapa – Halong Bay (1 Night): On arrival back in Hanoi, you will be met and driven to the stunningly beautiful Halong Bay, a collection of about 2000 islands in the north-east of Vietnam and a designated World Heritage site. At Halong Bay, you will take a 1 night Junk Boat Cruise, setting sail through the bay and taking in the sights of the area’s many incredible natural formations, stopping for a refreshing swim every now in again in the bay’s tranquil waters.

✈ Halong Bay – Beach (6 Nights): On arrival back on dry land, you will be driven back to the capital of Hanoi where you will take your onward flight to one of the country’s best beach resorts, where you will spend 6 nights to complete your Vietnam holiday. If you wish to visit the resort of Hoi An on the South Central Coast, we’ll fly you to Danang, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Once a busy port on the Silk route, Hoi An is now a small town with a lovely blend of culture, history and fabulous beaches. From its colonial buildings to its long stretches of sandy beaches, it is the perfect place to spend some time recharging the batteries. We could also fly you slightly further down the coast to Nha Trang which offers visitors a more all-round beach resort experience, with stunning beaches and activities, numerous bars and restaurants and a choice of luxury hotels. Alternatively, you may wish to visit one of Vietnam’s beach resorts further south, such as Mui Ne, Phan Thiet or Phu Quoc Island. For these resorts, you will take a flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh where we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for the following 6 nights. Mui Ne is a peaceful, laid back resort, with beautiful wide beaches and fabulous seafood. Situated about half an hour south west of Mui Ne is Phian Thiet. Slightly larger than Mui Ne, Phan Thiet is famous for its fish sauce, a favourite ingredient in many Vietnamese dishes. It is also a very quiet town, with a beautiful beach and some great hotels. Further to the west, 50km off the coast, is the island of Phu Quoc. The majority of this tranquil tropical island is a National Park and its marine life is protected. Its white sands and snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities are perfect for beach and water lovers.

✈  Beach – UK: On your final day in Vietnamese beach paradise, you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight home to the UK.
