Description
3 Nights – Marseille
4 Nights – Nice (Day trip to Monaco)
✈ UK – Marseille (3 Nights): You will fly from the UK to Marseille, where we will meet you at the airport for your transfer to your hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights. Marseille is the Mediterranean’s largest port and is France’s second largest city after Paris. The city has recently benefited from a great deal of renovation and improvement, after being European City of Culture in 2013. The main focal point of the city is the vibrant Vieux Port where you will find a great deal of activity taking place, including street entertainers, huge yachts and some splendid restaurants to sit and watch the world go by. Well worth a visit is The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisation and the Notre Dame de la Garde with its impressive views over the city. A great way to get around this historic port is to take an open top bus tour, which will allow you to spend some time at the beach as well as visit some of the sights.
🚂 Marseille – Nice (4 Nights): On your last day in Marseille, you will take a train to Nice (approx. 2 hours and 30 mins) where you will spend 4 nights. Nice’s beach is curved round the Bay of Angels and a stroll along the palm-tree lined Promenade des Anglais is an absolute must when visiting this city. The beaches may be pebbly, but the waters are clear blue and calm and perfect for paddling. Castle Hill is well worth the trip up its 100+ steps for its fabulous views of the city. The Old Town, with its narrow atmospheric streets is wonderful for ambling around and has some fabulous artisan boutiques and small restaurants from which to sample the local cuisine. One of the Old Town’s best treasures is the Cours Saleya where the flower and food market is held. Take lunch here surrounded by flowers and the hustle and bustle of the market.
🚂 Monaco day trip from Nice: Whilst staying in Nice, you can take a visit (or overnight stay if you wish) to Monaco. Only a short 20 minute train ride away, Monaco is the perfect day trip destination. There is perhaps no better place to watch the world (and the world’s most expensive cars) go by than from the Café de Paris in Monaco, opposite the famous Casino de Monaco. The Casino itself is an impressive affair, with its lavish rococo rooms and enormous chandeliers – but don’t let the lavish surroundings tempt you to gamble away your life savings! The principality’s most famous event is of course the Monaco Grand Prix, when the city gets taken over by the formula one set. This normally takes place at the end of May, so probably best to avoid if you’re not a petrol head!
✈Nice – UK: On your final day in Nice, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred back to the airport for your flight home to the UK.

Nick Chadwick has arranged 2 far east hilidays for us in the past 6 months.. The first involved 5 stops throughout Malaysia and Singapore and on a recent second holiday we returned to Borneo as we love the island so much. Everything went to plan and I have no hesitation in recommending this company. We will definitely use again.

Took out the Best of Andalucia trip with eshores, where we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful region of Southern Spain. eShores tailor your experience to your budget and they organise everything, catering for all your needs, we were able to change some of the destinations and extend the duration of our stay. All the accommodation provided and travel was first class, the selected destinations did not disappoint. For travelling in Spain, we chose rail, the rail network we found very efficient and so well organised. Emma from eShores was great from the outset, we discussed with her what we were looking for and provided dates of availability and she came back with an itinerary, which she then fully organised, it made the whole process so simple. We were very impressed with Emma’s help and assistance and eshores overall customer commitment. We would certainly use them again and very much would recommend them to anyone. Rachel at Eshores arranged a glorious trip to India. Guided tour around The golden triangle and 5 days on the beach in Goa. Everything went exactly as per the itinerary. The hotels and beach resort were excellent. I highly recommend Rachel and Eshores. Great planning and always on hand to answer any questions or concerns. I would certainly use this company again for any future trips.
