Location: Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus sits on a gently sloping sandy beach approximately 3 miles from the fishing village of Bayahibe, just over 15 miles from La Romana and just12 miles from the famous Teeth of the Dog golf course. Airport transfer is 1hr 40mins.
Description: The resort is beautifully designed to blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. This exceptional hotel, which sits on a stunning white sandy beach and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, provides luxurious health facilities and a range of activities for day and night.
The resort boasts 3 swimming pools (2 lagoons and 1 activity pool, and one with swim-up bar) several large terraces and a separate children’s pool. All lounges, chairs, umbrellas and beach towels are complimentary. Further amenities include the reading/cards room, access to the internet, souvenir shop, boutique and supermarket. Active guests can take part in a number of sporting activities including a range of motorised and non-motorised water sports, aerobics classes, billiards, archery, football, basketball, table tennis, dancing lessons, tennis, volleyball and even a scuba clinic is offered in the pool. There’s a health centre with fitness room, Jacuzzi and massage room. There are also 3 golf courses nearby.
A buffet style restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner along with evening meals being served at 4 a la carte restaurants, providing a choice of Mexican, Japanese, Steakhouse and Gourmet (reservations and a dress code are applicable for a la carte dining). There are a range of bars, some serving snacks, and the hotel has an evening entertainment programme offering live music, shows, and themed nights. There’s also a nightclub.
The all-inclusive package includes; all meals (restrictions apply to a la carte dining) all snacks, all soft drinks, all domestic and selected international alcoholic beverages including beer, spirits cocktails and wine (including drinks in nightclub). All sports and amenities are included apart from golf, motorised water sports, the deep sea fishing trips and use of the internet.
Accommodation: Standard rooms sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children; have 2 small double beds or 1 king-size bed, the bathrooms have a bath or shower, the mini-bar is restocked every other day, the rooms all have a balcony or terrace and have all the standard amenities as below. Suites include an additional living space.
Our Opinion: The south coast is the nicest part of the Dominican and the hotel provides many things to keep your days s relaxed or as busy as you want them to be; an excellent all-inclusive holiday.
