Location: Cayo Coco is in fact an island, linked to the mainland of Cuba by a 17km stretch of road. It is around 90km from Ciego de Avila airport.
Description: A stay at Melia Cayo Coco can only be described as the trip of a lifetime.
An adult-only hotel, the Melia Cayo Coco is set on a beautiful white beach, close to the coral reef and framed by palm trees.
The emphasis here is placed firmly on luxury and relaxation. With no children and excessive noise, guests can while away the hours, being waited on either in the large swimming pool or on the beach. Pampering comes in the form of hydromassage, sauna and steam bath, whilst more energetic activities include horse riding, scuba diving, volleyball and aerobics.
There are no less than six restaurants and snack bars here, offering tapas, Italian and international dishes; as well as two bars.
Accommodation: Accommodation comes in the form of bungalows, to retain the beautiful views of the resort’s surroundings. All extremely tastefully decorated and sumptuously furnished, standard rooms have their own balcony or terrace, satellite TV, minibar and 24 hour room service. The 12 suites have been constructed on posts over the lagoon and are quite simply stunning. All suites have an additional reception area and dining room.
Our Opinion: If you are looking for luxury, relative seclusion and a unique experience, you will find it difficult to top Melia Cayo Coco. We challenge you not to fall in love with its wonderful serene character, understated elegance and first class facilities. A true star.
