Location: Hotel Morabeza is in a prime position on Santa Maria beach, the best on the island of Sal.
Description: Morabeza means hospitality, and the Hotel Morabeza is the most established hotel on Sal. Its reputation is built on its stunning location and the personal service they offer. Originally home to a Belgian family, the Morabeza has now been developed into a very attractive hotel, now run by the granddaughter of the original owners.
The extensive grounds are lovingly landscaped with tropical gardens that lead down to ‘Le Beach Club’, which is well known as the perfect spot for lunch. The Beach Club also offers a number of watersports facilities and the Morabeza also offers numerous day and night time activities to choose from. Additionally the pool area has no music to ensure pure tranquillity whilst relaxing.
When it comes to dining, the Bon Appetit dining plan includes dinner in Les Palmiers restaurant on the first and last night and the Saturday barbeque buffet during each week of your stay. The hotel also has a main and à la carte restaurant which can be added on to the Bon Appetit plan as a half board option. There’s also a choice of restaurants and bars in Santa Maria that are just a short stroll away.
Our Opinion: Simply the best hotel in Cape Verde as its location is ideal and although it’s not as luxurious as the Riu hotels it has a small and friendly charm and is more traditional in style, offering the true Cape Verde experience.
